Skylar shook her head and set her stuff in the vehicle. They were about to leave when a truck came barreling down the tarmac right toward the hangar. Several men and woman got out and shifted forming a line to block the trucks path. “What is going on?” Skylar asked. “Mack just linked me apparently a truck is headed right for us.” A few witches had got out and stood behind the line of wolves. The truck tires started screeching as the driver slammed on the brakes.

The vehicle behind swerved as well, trying to keep up, but Luca was faster, pushing the car to its limits. Meanwhile, across town...Bella leaned against her desk, a devilish smile playing on her lips as she spoke into her phone. "Everything is falling into place. The Kendricks will be nothing but a memory once this is over. That family has no idea what’s coming."She paused, listening to the voice on the other end of the call, then laughed softly.

At that very moment, a truck was barreling down upon her. The blare of horns sent people scrambling, hands clamped over their mouths in shock. However, Bella seemed oblivious, barreling ahead without pause. A sudden burst of white light streaked by. When Madeline's eyes refocused, Bella was sprawled on the asphalt, blood pooling around her. The truck, brakes screeching too late, swerved and slammed into the guardrail. Beyond the twisted metal lay an ambulance, then flipped on its side by the force of the truck, its cabin crumpled.

It was larger than the other jeeps, an enclosed truck with huge steel doors. A jangling noise and a series of coughs alerted us to a new presence. It was a prison transport van. Suddenly, flung roughly into the dust before our eyes was a filthy, bruised Bella. She looked appalling, tired and filthy. Her black tank top and trousers were covered in dust and she had bruises up and down her arms.

" Bella looked at the carnage outside, then back at Jake's matter-of-fact face. She couldn't help but internally scream, 'This guy's a monster! Even my tank couldn't pull that off!'
