Belle Da Costa Greene Mother Novels & Stories

Belle had just entered the hotel where the entire family was gathering to celebrate Carmeine's first birthday—the beloved daughter of Cassey and David—when she nearly collided with someone she knew all too well. "Belle..." the woman began before quickly correcting herself. "Oh, sorry. Dr. Belle DelValle." Belle immediately recognized the familiar face. "Miss Smith." A polite smile curved her lips as she turned to face Sylvia Smith, the former supermodel who still looked flawless despite retiring from the fashion industry years ago.

Kelly got packed and was ready to return with Blake and Helen to Peach Blossom Estates when Kelly’s Mother arrived. She was shapely and had dyed red hair, making her look like a mature goddess in her business attire. When she saw Kelly up and about feeling fine, she wept with tears of joy and hugged her daughter to the extreme. It was only after that Kelly relayed what was happening and that she needed to leave and train herself to get better control of her situation that her Mother nodded her approval.

“Who is this mysterious special guest?” His mother laughs. “Don’t play coy with me, Cade,” she says, leaning forward. “It’s Bella Vercetti, of course.” My ears perk up. The air in my lungs stalls. Cade tenses instantly. He turns his head ever so slightly, just a fraction of an inch, as if he’s checking over his shoulder to see if I’m still standing there listening. “I’m not playing this ridiculous game with you, Mother,” he says angrily, his hands curling into tight fists at his sides.

The water fell gently towards the crystal blue pool beneath it, causing ripples to form and wave out until they were no more. The bushes were trimmed into all sorts of animals and people littered the parts of the lawn that was not taken up by the fountain. The beach lay just beyond the backyard, grass forming into the sand, bushes, and hedges turning into sand dunes. The water sparkled and dolphins flipped from the water in the distance. Fang Wei Wei walked towards the extravagant mansion, down the little stone path to the black door. She stabbed the doorbell. Hearing a faint 'ding dong' she huffed, waiting for someone to come to the door. It was, moments later, opened by a middle-aged woman

Gonzalo started to think his dad did something to his mother when she suddenly arrived at the dining hall entrance, with her henchwoman pushing a golden food cart towards his father. "Have a nice dinner, husband." His mom said before sitting in her usual chair and smiling sweetly at Gonzalo. When the henchwoman removed the golden food covers, his father put the utensils down forcefully. "I told you not to test me. But you didn't listen. You're so cocky to think that I cower at your presence. Have you forgotten who I am, boy?" His mother purposely gave a mocking tone to word boy. "I am Greta Calvo-Sotelo, the heiress of the biggest and wealthiest mafia group in Spain. I can kill whoever I wan

he panted, "The Luna wants to speak with you immediately." I nodded, wondering what could have made my mother summon me with such urgency. I started walking towards the Packhouse, my mind racing with different possibilities. When I arrived, I saw my mother standing in the foyer with a scowl on her face. My mother, the Luna of our pack, was an intimidating figure. She stood tall and proud, her regal bearing commanding respect from all who saw her. Her hair was a deep shade of ebony, framing her angular face and falling in perfect waves down her back. Her eyes were sharp and piercing, a brilliant shade of emerald green that seemed to glow in the light.

The orchestra ceased their music as a hush fell over the hall and all attention turned to us. Mother stood at the center with the foreign dignitaries she had addressed. She looked charming in a sensible emerald dress and beautiful makeup. But her face was pale, her eyes wide as she looked from me to Maggie in shock. I could almost laugh. Behind her, Madame Griselda didn’t look better. Her own mouth was slightly open and she gaped. Good. Hushed whispers began to fill the halls as Mother’s face turned from white to red. “Luna Natalie, you were saying??” The dignitary I had met before, Pack advisor Rhysand, stepped forward. “May I ask which child in particular is difficult and… “ He frowned as

“Have you been in contact with this woman?” I eye him and his fellow officer, before looking down at the picture. And even though my stomach drops, I give little to no reaction. It’s Bella. “I’m not answering any of your questions without my lawyers.” He snatches the picture away. “Right. But you should know, Mr. Knight, that I came here directly out of respect for you. You have less than twenty-four hours to report to the station. If not I will seek out an arrest warrant and this will be an ugly experience for you.”

The woman’s eyes bulged and she swallowed heavily. “Luna Eclipse?” she questioned, “Yes. I am Beta Elaine, we have come to offer our greetings and support to the Triple Goddess” “Oh my, you’re being serious?” she gaped. Elaine didn’t reply, only nodded once. The woman opened and closed her mouth a handful of times before she regained her composure. “Forgive me, I am Romeá, former Luna and mother to the new Alpha” she said finally. “Pleasure. This is Lunaya, Phoebe and Cleo over there” Elaine spoke, pointing to each of us.

Each word cut through my chest like a knife. I stayed beside Xavier’s bed, watching his pale face. His eyes were tightly shut, and dried tear tracks still clung to his lashes. My child should have been born into privilege and glory. Instead, because of my choices, he had suffered this. Dad entered the room and draped a black velvet shawl over my shoulders. “Get changed. From this day on, you’re no longer James’s wife. You’re this family’s Donna and the future Godmother of the mafia families.”
