Novel's POV After returning home, the book seemed to pulse on my desk, demanding to be opened. I read the title. A novel. The kind with a character on the cover looking at something just out of frame. “What made you choose it?” I said. “The first line,” he said. He opened it and read quietly. “He had spent so long building walls that when they finally came down he didn’t know whether to feel free or exposed.”

I opened the brown book to view the dusty pages inside. I was so fascinated with it that I didn't hear anything else, my eyes stayed on the pages. I read the first page which was a complication of all the chapters in the book. Starting from the history of magic to how to keep the bloodline pure. That word again, bloodline, I thought. I read it one by one to see what I could find on this oathed, there wasn't anything special. Nothing relating to that or close to it. As I scanned the page again I saw a heading, ‘ritual’ it read.
