Betrayal Sins Of The Father の小説・ストーリー

"I've never mistreated you since we were kids. Every time Dad and Mom gave us something, I'd always give you a share of it. Sometimes, even if I don't have it, I'd still give it to you." "I never wanted your pity!" Cara cut me off angrily before I could even finish. "You're just trying to show off your generosity! I don't want your pity!" I sighed once more. If that was what she truly thought, nothing I said would reach her. She would soon face the consequences of her actions, anyway.

His name had been forged in blood and fire. He should have been the sole heir to the family, inheriting his father's name. However, due to rumors that he brought misfortune—his birth supposedly causing his mother's early death and later dooming his fiancées—his father had only ever treated him as a tool to expand the family's power, rather than as the rightful successor. In the end, Ivan’s father, Vincent Vittorio, had passed the inheritance to his current wife's son, Leonardo, a pampered young man who had never been tainted by bloodshed.

“Steve, you make me sick. If you want my money, just say so. Don’t try to twist the story and make it sound like I’m the bad guy. “Do you really think I don't know that your whole family plotted to marry me, kill me off, and then take my inheritance of millions of dollars?” Gasps rippled through the crowd, and whispers started flying. Steve’s face paled. He stammered, trying to defend himself. “No! My family was the one who didn’t want me to marry you, so I said some stupid things just to shut them up… Summer, you have to believe me. You’ve always trusted me…” “Enough!” Without hesitation, Ben slapped Steve hard across the face. “Steve!” Quinn screamed with tears in her eyes. “How could you?

Danika fired back instantly. “We have a bond. We are mates. That bond cannot lie!” Genaro let out a cold laugh. Short. Merciless. “Fine,” he said. “Believe whatever you want.” Then he slowly stood. Towering over her. “He betrayed his true mate.” Danika’s jaw tightened. “He abandoned the woman he chose.” Another step closer. “He walked away from his own child.” Genaro’s eyes darkened completely. “And you still call that sacred?” Silence. Heavy.

I motioned for my poison tester to test the foods before I ate my meal. Each demon was drawn to their own preferred sin, mine was lust. It was like a drug to me, the promise of something sweeter and more delicious, like the promise of sex. I craved it more than any other sin. My father was drawn to wrath. He swore the spicy flavours exploded on his palette; he would choose it over any other. A demon's taste in sin explained a lot about their personality. My father was a force to be reckoned with. He was someone you did not betray, and he was known for the brutal punishment of anyone that had betrayed him.

When my mom submitted her own drafts, she was publicly accused of copying the same designs. Not long after that, news of my SAT cheating scandal went viral online as well. That was how our entire family became known as a family of plagiarists. Crushed beneath public criticism and massive compensation fees, my mom gradually fell into depression. After my suicide, she passed away too. Back then, I didn't understand why it all happened, and I didn't want to believe Shirley was involved. But after getting a second chance at life, I finally saw Shirley for who she truly was.

My desire for freedom had so blinded me that I ran into the arms of the enemy, who had turned out to be the real beast. With the tears falling freely now, I spared a glance at Tristan lying unconscious on the floor and to Ronan, who glared at me with more hate than he had from the first day Father brought me to the house and introduced me to my brothers. I’d betrayed my family. I’d betrayed Hannah. But if I stayed, Ronan would use his last breath to make me miserable, and sealing the marriage to Tristan was the first thing he’d make me do. The weight of my sins pressed down on my shoulders, forcing me to take the hand of the man I should never have trusted.

“Loyalty?” He nodded, his dark eyes locked on hers. “Yes. Loyalty. Do you know what betrayal looks like? It’s not always a knife in your back. Sometimes it’s a deal your rival makes behind your father’s name. Sometimes it’s a smile at the table while they poison your food. And sometimes—” he pointed toward the cages, his finger steady, “—it’s raising the children of the men who tried to wipe out your family, letting them grow strong enough to finish what their fathers started.”

I helped him throw those rogues off his neck, but he dared to sell me off, forgetting who I was. “ I know you are pissed because of alpha Moses but alpha Moses is gone, isn't that enough?” Drew asked, but killing Moses wasn't enough to pay for what he had done. Betrayal was a great sin that even death could not erase; it was unfortunate that his daughter would have to pay for his remaining sins. “ No, it's not enough,” I said coldly, directing my gaze at him.

They chastised me and were disappointed in my decisions. I let more tears slide down my cheeks as I remembered how I had let Kain manipulate me into digging my own grave. I affirmed that my father was a traitor and joined the rest of the evil world in accusing my father of the wrongs he didn't commit. I fell to my knees, clutching at my chest. I had betrayed my father, so much for trying to rescue my family. We were all tied around Kain Kurt's disgusting finger and we couldn't do anything without him sabotaging us.
