She is going to be even sadder now, because her mate is leaving her here. I am a fucking dumbass... But it's too late. The decision has been made. "Can I ask you for a favor? Beta to Beta?" I say walking towards the table, putting my palms down to look him in his face to let him know I mean business. "Beta to Beta is sacred favor to ask. Are you sure?" He asks, eyeing me intently. "I am one hundred percent sure.." I say with a deep sigh.

All I have to do is act a little and you will be on the streets. And Betty knew that she was being serious because she had tasted how evil she can be so she nodded her head so that she can let go of her hair, she was hurting her. She gave her one last look and went out of the room. Betty was left breathless, the woman was not an easy one to deal with and she had to be careful next time.

This is getting interesting. “If I would freak out, I already did earlier. I even challenged you to a bet, and for all we know, if I lose the bet, you can ask me to do anything, and I'll do it despite the fact that I have no idea who you are. That’s more terrifying for me, isn’t it?” She raised her glass before she took a sip. I can never be more impressed with anyone except how this woman thinks. Her intellect is simply outstanding. She's even better than I expected.

Devyn groans. “Shh. I got this,” I calmly reply and pat his shoulder twice. “To answer your question, sir, I am Betsy Miller. I also have a father. I may not know how it feels when a father looks at you with disappointment but all I know is that I would really feel abandoned. I know I’m a disappointment too, but my father doesn’t throw that in my face every chance he could get. He’s proud of me even if I work for other people. When I am at my lowest point I know he’ll be there to cheer me up because he’s my father. That’s what fathers are supposed to do.”

“I am telling the truth. I don't know Matt's skills, but no one has ever fucked up my brother.” “We bet he's gonna get a kick from my buddy today?” She measured him from head to toe. She already heard about the bets. “What have you all turned up with these bets? Are you compulsive gamblers or what?”

"Mommy, I'm still super tired, and my tummy's rumbling." "I'll get someone to bring you food right now." Her mother watched Betty with emotion. "Rest up, sweetheart." Betty was such a good kid. She settled back down but added, "I want to be all better when I meet the lady." After hearing that, her mother glanced up at her husband again. He stepped out of the room and turned to his assistant. "I need you to track someone down. From what Betty described, she's young and definitely practices the arcane. I don't care who she is—she just became our family's biggest hero."

I added, hoping that would sway her. But instead her eyes fell on the Beta, tears beginning to build. And he suddenly enveloped her in an embrace. Angry eyes were upon me from all directions as I began to realize my plan was failing miserably. I was about to speak again, try desperately to win Bailey over, when I saw her whispering to the Beta. And then I saw a smile spread upon his face as he looked at her adoringly as she offered him her neck. Before I could move, his canines had elongated and his teeth sunk into her neck… he had marked her!

‘Tell Mr Mustafa we would appreciate it if he were the one to speak to us about this project you have in mind. ‘Don’t cave in, Betty. Don’t give them the satisfaction of seeing you scared,’ Betty chanted in her head. She turned toward the screen, her eyes watery with unshed tears. Although Betty had dealt with a lot of nasty male clients who can’t seem to get over the fact that a woman can do much more than sit at home and be a wait-on-hand maid—men whose ego speaks for them rather than their brain—they did a good job of hiding their distaste just to get what they want from ABM.
