Elle muttered to herself as she went in search of the books she wanted, she moved into the fantasy/paranormal section, she walked around for sometime before she came across a book that said "Aether world" She picked it up and scanned it, it talked about two realms that were once together. She quickly scanned the book once more, she saw names like halflings, faires, humans and a lot of weird things she saw in the other realm. The book said "fiction" in bold letters but she took it anyway. She made to sit down and read it there but she decided against that and walked to the librarian "I'll take this with me" she said as she placed the book on the desk.

I rested my face between my hands and laughed incredulously at how stupid I was at that not-so-distant time. In spite of everything, I felt happy to have learned a lot and grown from it all. The submissive and foolish Helena no longer existed and I couldn't be prouder. As Queen Beyoncé would say: Who run the world? Girls! Which meant that no man deserves to waste our time and our mental health. I opened the book, hoping that I could concentrate on the subject, since my mind kept focusing on only one thing: John and Cassie's breakup.

"This contains the knowledge you need. But be warned, the journey will be difficult and dangerous." I took the book, feeling a surge of determination. I was ready to face whatever lay ahead. As I left the secret room, I felt a strange sensation. It was as if I was being pulled in two different directions. The world of the living was calling me back, but the world of the dead was holding me tight. I knew I had to find a way to balance these two worlds, but I had no idea where to start. I opened the book and began to read, hoping to find some answers.

He knew if he took one step over the invisible line that was drawn between him, and her his life would be over. ‘Mine or hers? Mine or hers? He kept repeating the phrase in his mind even though he already knew the answer to it. His hands trembled at his side as his feet slowly crossed the line, he was so desperately anxious to cross throughout his life. Was the iceberg he built around his heart broken down piece by piece by her when he did not notice?

When they were about to reach and observe the book, Orcenal threw it to the raging fireplace. Ayja gasped while Anatoli frowned. But contrary to them, Orcenal kept his expressionless face. He whispered, “The connection between two worlds will be severed after this.” The three looked into the book that was slowly turning to ashes, their eyes complicated. “We can’t do anything about it,” Ayja said. “We really can’t.” Anatoli rubbed Orcenal’s back to give him just a little bit more support. The event that happened in the other world... they couldn’t change it even though they already knew what would happen. They were no longer Gods after all.

I parted my lips to speak and then swallowed my words, I didn’t know what to say, how to react, it felt like my world has just crashed, it felt like I was living on spinning earth, cold washed over me and I could only stare blankly at my mother as I let the words she had just said settle in. I was a child born out of hate!
