Esther I really should’ve listened to Dominic when he told me not to go outside. My nose picks up Henry’s scent, the scent of mildew, dust, trees and a lot of pollen. I slowly open my eyes, and Henry is the first thing I see. He is sitting on the other side of the table, his eyes on his phone. I try to move my hands, but they are tied to my back. “Well, well, well, Princess Esther,” he says in his British accent. He doesn’t look up from his phone, but he is looking at me through his peripheral vision. “The love of my life.“

Esther pov—— Esther's heart raced as she dialed Xavier's number, her mind racing with urgency. She knew she had to warn him about Alpha Calvin's plans, but time was running out. As the phone rang, her anxiety grew, hoping that Xavier would answer before it was too late. "Esther? Is everything alright?" Xavier's voice came through the line, filled with concern. "Xavier, it's Esther," she said, her voice urgent. "You have to listen to me. Alpha Calvin has invited you for a private meeting, but it's a trap. He has ulterior motives, Xavier. You must not go."

Lilith basically did a sketch of Esther with words. “Luckily, there isn’t much here” Esther said as she finished the last passage. “The biggest problem might be someone wants to torture me about knowledge that I might have of relics of God, but it doesn’t specify what they were at least.” I knew what one of the relics was, but Esther never told me about any of the others or even how many there were. “Care to share” I asked with a smile on my face, and I reached out and poked her in the rib. I knew she wouldn’t tell me, but I had to tease.

“Thank you. I have to admit, I’ve never heard of the name Esther before. What is it?” “What is what?” the woman asked, tipping her head to the side. “An Esther. What is an Esther?” She laughed then, a rich chuckle that didn’t seem hostile or make Rain feel silly. “We name our children different here, sweetie. Though it’s true Esther does mean star, and a star is a thing, I’m named for a person. Esther was a queen in the Bible. You must know what the Bible is ‘cause Adam told us he chose his name after the first man.”

Said Esther after reflecting on the details of the dream which were still fresh and real in her mind as if they were just written on a slate and she was reading every one of them singly and clearly. Mercy's forehead was now bunched in a frown feeling out of her depth to grip on what was going on in Esther's mind. "This must be a concern of the heart. I shouldn't press her anymore." With this conviction, Mercy stopped harassing her. She was right. Esther had applied her mental dexterity to comprehend the details of this dream in a biblical context and decided to hush it to hedge herself from any possible troubles. Esther pauses for a second and then says, “Look, I have nothing to do with any of this directly. I am not asking you to let me go or give me blood. Just get me some food, it will make me feel a little less miserable. I am going to die soon anyway.” The guard doesn’t say anything and a few seconds later the other guard enters the room with packets of food. Both of them eat their fill. Aer they have finished, the other guard gathers the packets and leftovers and leaves the room. The guard that Esther had been talking to waits for a few seconds and then walks over to her saying, “Here.” He is holding a packet in his hands. “Have these, but turn around while you eat so the other guard doesn’t se

Esther listened with a confused expression, clearly not understanding. Not only was the language Matthew used different from theirs, but the way he explained his whereabouts was so strange. This led Esther to another line of thought—could Matthew be a divine messenger sent by the gods? How could this be? She started to panic. If that were true, would she not have offended the gods? What should she do? “Sir, no, no, esteemed one, I didn’t know you were sent by the gods. Please don’t punish me,” Esther said, on the verge of kneeling. She was visibly anxious as she hurriedly apologized to Matthew.

Esther smiled at her genuinely. "You're so beautiful" it wasn't like she was just realising that but to her it was as if she was saying it to Christiana's mother. Esther had a lot more to say. l

Esther’s ears perked up at that, and she sat down beside Asher. Because of the intoxicant in her body, she was bolder and more energetic than usual, showing an array of emotions on her face as a result. “What is it?” She blinked her eyes at him. A playful glint appeared in his eyes at that. He licked his lower lip and brought up, “Simply conquer ten fears of yours.” That made Esther blink her eyes, trying to process the situation. Surely, she knew Asher wouldn’t make it easy on her, but wasn’t this too much?
