Born into chaos, though. Lies. Betrayals. Money exchanged hands where it shouldn't have."

"I kept some things. The watch. A few shirts. Enough savings to start over somewhere nobody knew my name. That's it. That's the whole story." Elena searched his face. Looking for the lie. Looking for the crack that would prove she was right to suspect him. She found something else instead. Pain. Old and deep and carefully buried. The kind you learned to carry so long ago you forgot it wasn't supposed to be there. She knew that pain. She wore it herself.

"You want money, right? There's 40 thousand on that card. Take it and leave me alone. If you keep this up, I'm calling the police!" Philip grabbed him by the collar again. "What are you talking about? Rose is about to get arrested for fraud. Do you even know that?" The man shoved Philip off, shock flashing across his face. "Wh-what? Arrested?" Philip let out a cold snort. "Now you're worried?" Rose kept sobbing from the side. "Honey, our plan's ruined… I fooled the whole company… Our money's gone… Just a few more months, and I would've finished my maternity leave and gotten the benefits. We could've left everything behind! Make her give my money back!"

His voice was filled with anguish and bitterness. “No matter how much I messed up in the past, I have never been unfaithful to Bonnie. I have never been with another woman. “You manipulated me with your lies and clouded my judgment until I pushed her away. I hate myself for not seeing through your games sooner!” Casen’s emotions spiraled. “If you hadn’t tricked me into going to Sicily, I could’ve spent a lovely Valentine’s Day with her. If it weren’t for you, Bonnie would still be here!”

"Who hit my sister?" The crowd fell silent. All the color drained from Viola's face. Her lips trembled, and a muffled whimper escaped her. Aaron's expression shifted from anger to confusion, then to terror. "That's impossible. How could she be..." He suddenly looked at me, his eyes red. "Eve, why didn't you tell me?!" He stepped forward and tried to take my hand. Even his voice changed. "Eve, I made a mistake! She lied to me! She kept turning me against you! I never wanted to break up with you!"
