As I looked around, I noticed Maggie and River engaged in a heated argument about the existence of fairies.

She caught up to them and yelled, “Hurry up! We are being pursued.” Nezeira overtook them and leaped over the rocky stream on which was the enchanted border. She put Yihan down and looked up towards Maya and her mom, reaching almost the border. Suddenly shocking her something fired towards them, a bomb-like thing, which blasted into a purplish smoke and engulfed both and the next second, fell unconscious collapsing on the ground. Nezeira, horrified dashed towards them for rescue but another bomb was hurled, now towards her and it hit her squarely.

"Aleth! Language, girl…" Emily cautioned. Alethia was staring at him with an undaunted gaze that seemed to challenge him. Gosh, he looked different that night, more so because he was dashing in black denim over a plain white T-shirt and dress pants. His blue eyes were deep and beautiful. His nose pointed out sharply, and he smiled in such a way that made her forget what the hell she was doing there. She could perceive the rich fragrance oozing from his body, making his masculinity relatively present. With all senses beaten out of her, she wanted nothing more than to touch him.

She spotted Beta Declan by the pool table and approached, hooking his keys out of her back pocket as she stepped down into the room. "I take it my car is still in one piece, Sapphira?" He asked, a slight glimmer in his eye as he chalked his cue. "Yes, Beta. Thank you." She blushed, feeling several eyes turn on her as she dipped her head and handed him the keys. "I think this is the first time I've seen you in here." Gamma Brandon smirked, taking a swig from his drink. "Not one for social gatherings, Sapphira?" The Gamma's mate, Hunter, winked.

"Dig in, Lyra. These are all your favorites." Dad quietly looked on. He lifted his wine glass and said softly to the empty seat, "Merry Christmas, Lyra." Ava and Jamie also joined in, saying, "Merry Christmas, Lyra." Outside, fireworks burst again, lighting the night sky. They were as bright and lively as last year, but this time, a member of the family was missing, and she was gone forever. That blizzard at the rest stop last Christmas had frozen an 18-year-old Omega she-wolf to death, and with her, the hearts of an entire family died, too.

15. Someone From Past Shadrach scanned his thumb over the apartment door, and the machine beeped, granting him access. He released Bella’s leash, and she immediately began barking furiously, alerting Shadrach to the presence of an intruder in the house. Cautiously, he positioned himself near a vase, noticing a rod left by the maid during her cleaning. He picked it up, ready to defend himself, before stepping outside and hearing laughter. Billy was Damian's personal minion who carried out assignments for him and I assumed he sent him on this assignment. “What. Do. You. Want?!" I yelled. “Your boss doesn't want me anymore! Then what do you want?”I asked again. Alex's phone beeped aloud, he looked at the screen before giving me a look that I couldn't decipher.

Billy walked closer to us, his eyes darting from one person to the next. “We were watching a horror movie before you walked in,” I explained. “Which one?” Billy’s lips rose in a smile. The tense look replaced by laugh lines. “The Hills Have Eyes, we watched both of them.” He laughed and sat on the table facing us. “That scared Joe pretty good too. The first one isn’t as bad as the second.” “What’s so funny?” Joe walked into the room and threw Billy a shirt. “They watched your favorite movie,” Billy said between laughs. He pulled the shirt over his head and picked up the bottle of whiskey on the table and gulped down some of it.
