ONE More Time to make it right
The driver, a burly man with a thick gray mustache, turned to Carson with a friendly smile.
"Where to, guy?" he asked, his Mancunian accent strong.
"42 Willow Lane, please," Carson replied, trying to keep the tremor out of his voice.
The driver nodded, pulling away from the curb. "Ah, Willow Lane. Nice area, that. Visiting family?"
Carson hesitated. "Something like that," he said finally.
The driver, sensing Carson's mood, didn't push further. Instead, he started chatting about the weather, the latest football scores, anything to fill the silence.
