He didn’t stay long, and denied knowing anything about the vodka as he rushed out. Billy noticed his mom’s car parked in the driveway as he made his way across the lawn and towards the front door. It was just the two of them living in a tiny suburban home, and though his mom did go on the occasional date, none of her boyfriends had ever gotten serious enough for her to introduce them to him. “Mom, I’m home.” Billy kicked off his shoes and closed the door behind him. Food and ingredients were scattered across the kitchen counter, apparently the stuff that was going to be used to make dinner.

(MAYA'S POV) I could not believe that Xender had invited me to dinner. I headed home in a daze, unable to reconcile the controlling billionaire with the man who had just practically ordered me to dine with him. Why the hell was I even excited at the prospect? It was a forced meeting, a tactical debriefing, yet an excited tremor ran through me. Billy walked closer to us, his eyes darting from one person to the next. “We were watching a horror movie before you walked in,” I explained. “Which one?” Billy’s lips rose in a smile. The tense look replaced by laugh lines. “The Hills Have Eyes, we watched both of them.” He laughed and sat on the table facing us. “That scared Joe pretty good too. The first one isn’t as bad as the second.” “What’s so funny?” Joe walked into the room and threw Billy a shirt. “They watched your favorite movie,” Billy said between laughs. He pulled the shirt over his head and picked up the bottle of whiskey on the table and gulped down some of it.

The story about Billy killing the pup - it doesn't add up. This is because there's a crucial piece of information that Marcus is unaware of. Billy's descent from a proud Gamma and Head Warrior to a miserable alcoholic wasn't solely due to losing his mate. He had also lost his own pup. How could someone driven to madness by the loss of their child ever bring themselves to harm another? Girard informed his nephew alas he was busy in something else. Billy poke his finger on the balloon cake while his uncle's words went from the top of his head, "It's my birthfaee (birthday)?"
