"Stupid humans," a deep, gravely voice growls, and before I can even respond, the beast takes off. His long paws pummel the ground, and the forest zips past me. Motion sickness mixed with my grief turns my stomach, and I vomit instantly. He snarls as my puke hits his pelt, but he doesn't slow down.

My wolf fought, teeth bared, but the chains burned hotter the more I resisted. Then— A roar split the air. Ares hit the street like a falling god, Crimson Fang power detonating outward in a shockwave that shredded two shadow wolves instantly. His eyes were blazing molten gold, fury incarnate.

“But, for the glory of God, I beg you: do what Noah asked and let me get you and your brother to safety…” The sound of screams of pure despair interrupted him and, at the same instant, the three of us turned to see a group of women, children, and elderly people running in despair, while the moonlight reflected off the armor of a single gigantic wolf. “Fuck!” Atticus grunted through clenched teeth, his whole body tensing as he watched our warriors, most of them young, charge toward the intruder.

I am too caught up in the moan he lets out or the gasps of pain when his arm snaps in two. After a minute or two, I no longer hear the terrifying sounds of his body breaking. When I open my eyes, I come face to face with a large black beast. He looks almost wolf-like, but different. Much larger, but if you look closely, there is a little bit of a humanistic look to the beast's features. The eyes though, large and bright blue are so eerily familiar to me.

The beats had already awoken and I was afraid we all might have to pay for their transgressions. A loud whistle came from behind them. I tore my eyes away just in time to see a drenched Nerezza standing in the archway. She was clothed in a long black robe. Hair dripping down it. Gone were the red puffy cheeks and the hollowed-out eyes. In their place was anger. "I am back for a full five minutes and everyone is already acting like blood fucking fools!" She screeched. The two men didn't stop. They continued beating each other until a drop of blood fell on the white floor. This seemed to spark her anger even more. "Everybody in the fucking living room. NOW!"

It gives him a few seconds before the hounds decide attacking is their best move. They might have gained some newfound intelligence, but Beast is smart and has had years of practice. Our eyes carry bloodlust, our bodies made for killing. Beast's claws rake a wide path across one throat and chest. It's not a killing blow, but the hound lists to the side and the other jumps around him. It's almost like he's protecting the hurt creature. Beast lets out a growl that rumbles clear to our feet and charges head-on. We clash and the hound goes to the ground with Beast on top. We grab his neck within our crushing jaws and crunch bone. The other hound lands on top of us, his snapping jaws taking a bit

Ashley muttered beneath her breath. "Here" Annabelle waved the paper she took out of her backpack in the air. "There are so many interesting things about the war beast. For example, the war beast existed long ago. About 8-9 centuries ago and according to what I read, it came back four centuries ago and it is written that it will come back four centuries after that" Annabelle explained. "That's just a myth. No one believes that" Said Monica nonchalantly. "Of course, who will believe such a ridiculous story? But still, this is an opportunity for us to get the best score in class. We have to find out all we can, give the best presentation and the the best write up too" Said Annabelle.
