Alex greeted the audience, a charming smile displayed across his face. The smile made the wrinkles beneath his eyes more prominent. With a goatee on his chin and a grey moustache above his thin lips, Alexander Black appeared older than all of them, having transitioned into a vampire much later in life. Actually, Damien was seventy years older and could still pass as his son among the common folk. He resumed talking, “Its good to see all of you here.” Damien scoffed and a woman sitting beside stared at him with a frown, but he did not care.

Amara demanded. I backed up and sat down, “shift back. Let me talk to, Alessia.” She stood up, her ears shifting directions and padded over to me quietly sitting beside me. Xander reached over and licked blood off her cheek that must have been from us. A vampire appeared in front of us, she must have heard him approaching. He was about 6-foot tall, deep brown hair and blue eyes, fair skinned with 5 o’clock shadow. He wasn’t built like muscular the werewolves; he had an athletic appearance to him though. He wore a black v neck t shirt, a black leather jacket, blue jeans and all black converse shoes.

She slowly turned her head. The man standing in the doorway was tall and thin, dressed entirely in black. His hair was white — not gray, not from age, but white like freshly fallen snow, as if all color had been drained from it centuries ago. His silver eyes seemed impossibly ancient, millennial. When he entered the room, the air changed. Literally changed, growing denser, colder. Carla felt it. Even as a human, even without powers, even with the bond blocked. That wasn’t normal, wasn’t human, wasn’t vampire. It was something worse.

His mouth half-open, revealing the sharpness of his teeth. Along his arms, his skin had changed from white to the color of impure fire. His smile was as large as his malevolence, and the surroundings of his eyes were the brightest crimson she had ever seen. "Are you used to it, my favorite?" he asked with depth, able to hear the murmurs of the souls of the place that he hadn't set foot on for a long time. "Well, this will be something new."

Black just shrugged contemptuously: "Apparently, one of our own has Mate as a vampire. " He didn't give me more information about it," Black stated as he rose. "Order me a new chair. His ridiculous question annoyed me so much I couldn't hold it in." Duncan clenched his lower lip between his teeth to restrain himself from asking more questions. "What?" asked Black when he realized his Beta's expression. "Didn't he tell you more, or did you hang up first?" "I hung up," the Mad One replied unashamedly. Then, when he saw that his Beta continued to grimace, he completed, "Don't want to hear about some bastard who found his Mate."

Maya pressed her thumb against her injured finger, trying to stanch the tiny bead of blood. "Just a paper cut," she murmured, looking up with a self-deprecating smile. "I swear, these old books are weapons—" The words died in her throat. Elena wasn't looking at the book. She was looking at Maya’s hand. The change in the vampire was instantaneous and terrifying. The soft, hazel rings of Elena's eyes violently bled away, swallowed up by a sudden, ink-like darkness until her irises were a bottomless, pitch black.

And with a quick jerk, Bethel took the tea, downing it in an instant, he dropped the cup back, the butler had brought him these tea in the right time, it was the taste of blood that could calm his senses. "Out, before I feed on your disgusting blood" Bethel said to the butler, watching as the old bald man hurried out from his presence, he had seen as the man shook when he had walked towards him, and he prayed, let him not end up like the previous four butlers. The butler was just a newly converted vampire, he still had some traits of human in him.
