His lips parted as he started to murmur a spell. That black tattoo started to move and soon left his skin. The demonic Eagle was flapping his massive black flame wings in front of his face. "Fetch chaos where not much demolition can be held out and don't annihilate. Send signals if the soulmate comes." He ordered his pet. His voice was gravelly and sluggish. His pet heightened up in the ear and with that, it flew away. Evandros took out his handkerchief from inside his robe and wrapped it around his face. He passed one last glimpse at the back of the manor before clambering off the huge walls of the manor and strolling down the empty streets.

"You look like you're carrying the weight of the world." Sable's voice drew me out of my thoughts. I'd wandered outside without realizing it, my feet carrying me to the edge of our makeshift compound where the desert stretched toward distant mountains. The road north, toward Darius's territory, toward the pack lands I'd fled from, was just visible in the fading light. "Just the weight of about eight lives," I said, trying for humor and failing. "Give or take." Sable leaned against the rusted-out truck I'd been using as a vantage point. "We knew what we were signing up for."

Watching Desert tonight was the first time I had seen her properly relax since I had met her, chatting laughing and joking with Sky and Lanna. "Hey beautiful" I say getting under the blanket in our corner of the tent, "Hey, is everything ok?" "Hmmm" "worried?" "No, not really" Desert raises an eyebrow at me making me smile, "Ok yeah, I just want you close to me ok, I can't have you getting hurt" "I won't ill be fine" "Desert, I mean it, we are going to war and not only that, there are rogues amongst us, I want to trust them but at the end of it they are still rogues, so stay close, got it?

The rocks looked like frozen screams of flame. "This way," Tamara's voice came out rough. The seal's energy yanked her forward like a leash. Canyon walls closed in around them. Red stone trapped the day's heat and threw it back at their faces. "We've got company up there," Jeremy's finger pointed to the ridge. Desert spirits materialized along the ridge. Half-real things built from heat waves and grit. They formed a circle with no escape route. "Guardians," Tamara understood instantly. "They need proof we're worthy."

A flash of silver out of the corner of his eye drew his eyes up to see a slight shimmer in the air before they all disappeared into it, a sword sticking out of his Luna after she jumped in front of an advancing warrior from the crowd. He was already dressed up and carrying a small suitcase. "Damian!" he called again, ignoring us. "Capo," he answered, and he came running. "Where is Tiger?" Axios asked. "He is outside waiting for your orders, Capo." "Bring him in," he ordered. Damian who went outside to call Tiger. Axios came to where I was with Kiara, gently patting my hair. He fished out the black card from his pocket and handed it over to me. "I don't have to go broke in just one day," he reminded Kiara, who was busy twirling around the room in victory.

Jax screamed after Kai before tearing after him. While the amused parents chuckled and used their vampiric powers to make the dead center of the waterfall their battlefield, I heard Rowland chuckle for the first time in days when even a dozen strong warriors found their feet dragging against the mud for a long distance as they tried to tug back a really strong Dante. “My man is hotter than a volcano and stronger than 12 beasts,” Rowland’s face seemed to say as he watched his Beta mate live in action. “He is so pliant and light in my arms. Especially when he is a moaning mess against the wall,” Rowland actually thought with a chuckle.

She gave him credit for that. Mr Nergal’s expression darkened. He stood up abruptly taking his hat with him. “Mr Reyes, I don’t give up easily. You will soon find me a hard opponent to fight with or a great supporter. The choice is yours. I want that Omega.” He looked at Arya who instantly blushed. He smiled showing his perfect teeth and Arya could smell his pheromones. “I will have you.” He said before Mr Reyes' anger could be felt floating in the air.

It was an entire pack of them, and in front of them stood Liam together with two other men. Liam's eyes widened upon seeing Harper, and her demeanor went from scared to bitter when the mate-bond zapped between them. "You're my mate..." Liam said. "But you... You and I are enemies." Harper looked him up and down. Liam had dark hair, tanned skin, and red eyes. He was built like a warrior and wore the black fur of another werewolf around his neck. It could possibly be the prize of a duel to the death, and Harper swallowed.

Even though I am part wolf, he follows me and my orders nonetheless. Rage pulsed in my veins, my neck beginning to throb. I immediately linked with all other warriors outside their posts. “We have a trespasser. A male, part witch and part werewolf. Find him at all costs! And do not disappoint me,” I roared, making sure they got the message correctly. All my warriors responded with a huff. They knew what I meant when I ask them not to disappoint me, that is to come back with desired results, or it will be the end for their lives.
