Richard dipped his gaze as the large moths dipped, following their silhouettes as they plumed out and then upward, up, and into the snowy night sky. Black water. Nothing could survive it. All that suffocating dirt and chunks of rubble. Crashing down like that. Nothing. The silt would get into their clothing, Richard knew, weigh them down, drag them under to where black rushing torrents would sweep them downriver, possibly for miles. No one could survive. Not in this cold, in these rapid-moving waters. “Glee . . . shit.”

I only felt a deep sense of satisfaction. Dylan's tears fell. Suddenly, he looked up and lunged at me, grabbing my neck. "Fiona, it's you! You poisoned my parents! You killed them!" His grip was firm. Soon, everything went black before my eyes. Fear gripped my heart as my hands clenched tightly. Bernice rushed over, desperately trying to pull his hands away. "Dylan, stop! This has nothing to do with Fiona. In fact, she's been running around trying to help today. Don't be ungrateful!"

Well, at least I finally got something I can do as a mage, right? Water splintered like glistening crystals as I turned and followed the rhythm with precision. I closed my eyes as I continued on my track, there was another smooth splash. Once again, I turned and leaped a little, then faced the audience and opened my eyes. I thought I'd see my expectants watching me in awe. But to my surprise, my line of vision was directed to a pair of unfamiliar pitch black eyes, the darkest shade of black I've ever seen in my whole life.

She loved the darkness from the clouds. The refreshing smell of the mud and grass entered her nostrils leaving her intoxicated as ever. She watched the fat raindrops roll down the railing of her balcony. Placing her uninjured hand on the metal, she felt the cold moisture. They say that it's just water. But in reality, it’s not. The rain was a killer. It left her paralyzed and numb. The emotions she was feeling before had disappeared in the midst. Thunder that rumbled in a crunched way infront of her broke her stance. To her the sky wasn't just grey but infact it was black. A fearless black. A never ending black.

At the center of the grandeur place stands a woman adorn in a white simple dress. Her hair was a flowing black river with eyes that seemed to have lost their colors because of the reoccurring thunderstorm and pale, grayish lips as though they had been a living corpse. I bit my lip at the emergence of heavy panting. The sound of a beast huffing as though it was devouring its prey.

The black hole is like a gate that separates two dimensions. Jace stepped across the marble gate and into the darkness. Jace's body seemed to be swallowed by darkness. Rain, who was still on the hillside of Westlake, felt goosebumps. She tried to reach for Jace but couldn't. Rain's hand was swallowed up in the darkness. Rain hesitated. If she doesn't step up, she'll fall further and further behind. Rain was about to take the first step when she felt her arm being grabbed by something icy. She jumped in surprise.

MILES I was drowning. Thick black ink filled my lungs, coiling around my ribs, pressing down, down, down until I was weightless. Trapped. It seeped into my pores, into my bones, slithering through my bloodstream like it had been there all along—just waiting for the moment to consume me. Pain I had never known choked me, and I could grasp at nothing. See nothing. I was nothing. But I didn’t want that.

His blood leaves a trail behind him, dark and gleaming under the moonlight, and for a moment I wonder if he understands what waits for him in the black water, if he knows that the ocean doesn’t forgive, that the sharks circling below can smell his blood already, that they are waiting for him like death itself. Maddie turns her head slightly, not away, but enough that I can see her lashes tremble, and my chest tightens with a protective instinct so fierce I almost call my men back, almost spare her this sight, but then I stop myself, because she asked for this, she fought for this, she wanted the truth, and to deny her now would be to strip her of the justice she has claimed with her own hand

His eyes dimmed significantly, and he sighed bitterly. Brewster's fingers shook violently. He received the report and lowered his eyes to read. With each line read, Brewster felt like his world was sharply collapsing. His chest clenched, and he staggered backward, slumping on the seat behind him. "Doctor..." He called, weak and despaired. "Your mother has developed brain tumor, Brewster." Dr. Kelvin's voice echoed in the office, but all Brewster could see was his mother's once radiant smile. He couldn't cry this time___ he really couldn't.

I closed my eyes, letting the water wash over me, hoping it would carry away the uneasiness. But it didn’t. The darkness stayed. Even with my eyes closed, I could feel it. I reached for the soap and paused. Matte black. “This man is not normal,” I whispered. I finished quickly, not wanting to stay in that space longer than necessary. When I was done, I reached for a towel. Black. I blinked. I grabbed another. Also black. “All the towels too?” I groaned softly. I wrapped one around myself, securing it tightly across my chest. My damp hair clung to my shoulders as I stepped out of the bathroom. The room outside looked slightly brighter, but only slightly. Just enough to remind me I wasn’t insi
