My lashes flutter, vision unfocused, but I tilt my head up just slightly. Blue eyes. Frantic. Angry.. Grayson. My lips part to say something, anything—but the world tips sideways. Then fades to black.

I cursed to myself, a series of blinding flashes of light flickering in my eyes. And then blackness.

"The codes... are... active..." The monitors on the wall flatlined. "Victor! The Prophet!" Elodie shrieked. The golden-eyed baby had gone still. His light vanished. "Zack! Now! Burn it all!" Victor roared, his voice cracking. He lunged off the bed, naked and dripping, and slammed his fist into the manual override. The lever snapped down. In the basement, Zack Vale held a thermite charge over the primary server racks. He didn't hesitate. He pulled the pin and dropped it into the heart of the Blackwood history.

The black goddess utters and everything around us shakes. She slowly stands with her hair covering her face. I grab Vlash’ arm as we step back when the black goddess raises her face we see her scary dead dark eyes, her lips are like stained with blood, her nose is elongated, and her skin is like cracked white just like the skins of zombies that I usually watch back to the normal world. We keep ourselves balance when the black goddess laughs menacingly and the ground starts to shake as if there is an earthquake. “Be careful Vlash Riri!” we look back to see Flora and the others beside Leo who is still unconscious.

Everyone was stunned when they saw the newcomer was just a large black dog. "A black dog?" Noah sneered and raised his fist. However, the Watts were taken aback when they saw the black dog. Zak was the first one to come around to his senses as he shouted, "Noah, stop!" He tried to grab Noah, but he was too late. Noah hit the black dog hard, but it just stood there and looked down at him with disdain. All of a sudden, his attack disappeared, and he froze in mid-air, looking confused. Before he could do anything, a blue light flashed again on the white spot on the black dog's forehead, and Noah's body was sent flying away.

But even as she asked him, he just stayed silent and gazed deeply into her sapphire eyes. "Answer me!" She shook his arms. "You're not, right?!" "Wake up," he softly uttered, almost whispering. With the flash hitting her eyes, Zia was left with no choice but to close her eyes from the dazzling pain.

“But I got here first! Winning!” Zane zapped another, guy dropped twitching. “Winning? You’re bleeding everywhere, idiot!” Caius’s drone dropped flashbangs from above. Bright lights. Screams. “Focus! Book’s that way!”

“Confirmed. The flash drive came from inside Blackwell & Stone.” She looked up at Alec. “Then we’re at war.” ⸻ The next day, Zara stormed into Blackwell & Stone’s lobby in full armor—black silk blouse, sharp heels, no fear.
