A big jaw aching smile spreads on my face as I buckle up, adjusting my mirrors, turning the AC on and drive. In the words of the man from the film Braveheart, I scream “FREEEEDDDOOOM!” Chaos whimpers in my mind as I drive along the road when a giant black wolf with red eyes steps out of the forest in front of the car and I slam on the brakes with a scream. The witch steps out, as does a grey wolf. Oh fuck!

His white shirt was soaked in red, his face pale and slick with sweat. “We’re under attack,” he gasped, barely standing. Lucian rushed forward, catching him before he collapsed. “Who?” Lucian demanded, voice low and dangerous. The driver coughed, blood bubbling at his lips. His voice was faint but clear. “The Blackwood. They’re here. It’s an ambush.”

He didn’t have any clue what he had done wrong, he was only following orders yet now he had apparently evoked his alpha’s wrath. “Go inside and escort Skye here, I’ll be waiting by the car.” Black eyes watched as the man scuttled away from the dominant Alpha and once the smaller man was out of sight, Hakan dashed over to the garage, his ears curiously flushed red.

One of the vampires shrieked, and Black ran towards them with angry eyes and slashed at him, wanting to separate his head from his body if it wasn't for his treachery from behind. Aaron turned with him to support him, as the Alpha could not fight them alone. That is impossible! Zayn backed away and howled so loudly that the vampire retreated backwards with great fear. A black Alpha Vehicle, a sleek Range Rover that looked like it was forged from shadow, was idling at the curb. I didn't need to see the driver to know who it was. The scent of rain, cedar, and raw, ancient power rolled off the car in waves. I slid into the passenger seat without a word. “You look like you’re ready to hunt, Little Wolf,” Peter Draven said, his voice a low vibration that seemed to hum right through the leather seats. He wasn't wearing his formal High Alpha robes today; he was in a dark, casual sweater that clung to his broad chest, his silver-rimmed glasses catching the moonlight.

The engine turned over and David started backing up. A loud thud sounded as something smashed into the side of the van. Clara glanced out the window and saw the black wolf she used to love playing with snarl and throw himself against her door. "Drive fast." The wolf started shifting back to Lucas, but he wasn't quick enough. David slammed on the accelerator and the van took off. Clara closed her eyes, promising she wouldn't open them until there was no chance Lucas would be in the rearview mirror.

A sudden, low rumble of a heavy engine cut through the sound of the downpour. Twin beams of blinding white light sliced through the darkness, pinning me in their glare. A matte-black, armored Blackwood Range Rover idled at the edge of the abandoned road. The massive vehicle looked like an apex predator crouching in the shadows, its dark tint hiding whoever sat inside. The driver's door swung open. A large, heavily built wolf in a tactical leather vest stepped out, his hand resting on the holster at his hip. Edwin Clarke, the legendary enforcer of the Ravenscroft Citadel, scanned me with sharp, critical eyes.

I spoke with a flat tone and watched the colour drain from his face and fear take over. “Kill him.” He shouted as he shifted into a muddy coloured brown wolf. One that was no match for my own. I ran straight for him, shifting mid air into Khaos' huge black wolf. One of the other wolves came at me from the side as Jack went in for my throat. Both were nothing, as I kicked my back legs out at the unknown rogue and heard the snapping of bones as I shattered his jaw. Followed by his yelp of pain. Jack, seeing that he wasn't going to get my throat veered left and jumped onto my back, sinking his teeth into my shoulder.

he roughly stated. "Yes sir" the one to the left said. "Make sure that there are no other survivors left" he told the one on the right. " Yes sir" he replied then left. The wolf on the left moved towards me and quickly and swiftly picking me up, throwing me over his shoulder heading outside. When we got outside I was kicking and thrashing around in his arms trying to get free. His hold tightened on me I can feel the anger radiating off him the more I kicked and thrashed around. I looked around and saw wolves slaughtered everywhere and then I saw we were headed towards a large black SUV. I kicked and thrashed a little more before he finally spoke up.

Cylo had insisted on driving earlier, but Ivo offered to take over because he was afraid the white-haired man would not be able to focus. Cylo nodded at Ivo's question. “Yes.” After that, Ivo started driving the Black Wolf mafia boss's car away from the area. Fortunately, the car had not been damaged during the fight, so it was still usable. Moreover, there were no items left, so they had to make the most of what they still had. The car drove at a moderate speed. Ivo drove the car silently, as did Cylo, who was also silent because he was still devastated by his sister's death. So, the atmosphere in the car was quiet. No one spoke; they were simply enjoying the quiet atmosphere.
