I take the snake out of the terrarium and put it on the ground. “Don’t try to run. I will kill you. If you don’t shift, say goodbye to life.” And to show that I mean business, I take my dagger out. “If you tell the truth, I will let you live. Hell, I might be generous and let you leave as well.” To my surprise, the snake shifts. I thought I would have to inflict pain. “Mark, bring a blanket. And some clothes. Staring profusely at the knives Alan could see the crest of a serpent, his eyes widened towards the lady. “She’s harmed with a weapon of the dark ones.” Alan yelled, “Cut her down.” Gerald and Luke quickly dashed towards the lady, who seems to be prepared for the fight. The lady deflected the first strike from Luke with ease, stabbing through his chest. Before Gerald could thrust his sword through her the lady quickly pulled the knife out of Luke’s chest to counter the attack then slits his throat.

The lady staggered forward, shaking as she struggled to lift her gun, her hands trembling violently. Naomi stopped halfway, letting Amanda take the lead, her fingers sliding down her single braid, drawing the hidden blade from its sheath to the tip. “You had the chance to walk away,” Amanda said, voice ice-cold. The lady’s gaze shot up, meeting Amanda’s. In a fluid motion, Amanda swung her head, the blade-tipped braid whipping forward and slicing across the lady’s neck with surgical precision. The lady froze, a shudder running through her, before she collapsed in a slow, thudding heap. Amanda caught the returning braid between her fingers, her eyes never leaving the lady.
