Blank Featureless Mask 소설 & 이야기

The blood soon began to get absorbed into the mask as though it was a vacuum and the blood was no more, and the mask sat on the floor by itself. Soon, dark red streaks began to appear, with the same color of blood, and covered the mask. The concentration, however, was strange as the sharp teeth of the mask were red and stayed red. There was a large circle in the middle of the forehead, and the rims of the open holes meant for the eyes were also colored with red. On the place where the temple would have been located, there were more streaks scattered from the forehead all the way down to the chin. The mask soon began to glow a strange dark red color, and I felt a murderous intent coming from

She was leaning over the counter, her left hand stabilization-clamping the synthetic skin canvas of The False Engine, while her right hand managed a short, thick hog-bristle blending brush. She was blending deep, bruised violet pigments directly onto the silicone cheekbone of the mask. Her movements were non-linear, unpredictable, and entirely devoid of geometric optimization. She would dip the brush into a shallow pool of wet acrylic liquid, scrape the excess onto a wrinkled sheet of aluminum foil, and then apply the color to the synthetic flesh in soft, rapid, and rhythmic stippling patterns. With every stroke of her wrist, the flat, bloodless polymer matrix of the mask began to shift, tak

My chest tightens with a recognition I can’t place. I reach the door and pause. Through the gap, I see a bed angled toward the window, blinds drawn but leaking thin bands of early light. Machines stand sentinel, their screens alive with quiet green waves. And on the bed...... It’s me. I stop breathing. The figure lies perfectly still, and hair spread like a dark fan across the pillow. A pale blanket rises and falls with each slow inhale. The face, my face, holds the colour of morning milk. Eyes closed, Lips parted just enough to catch the soft hiss of oxygen.

Get your shit together, Charlotte. “Nice try, but that’s not going to work.” I countered coyly, polishing off my Asian chicken wrap. My mask was on, and I was determined not to show anymore weakness. After I swallowed the last bite, I sneered at my EX. “Tell me again why you couldn’t just express these fake ass concerns over the phone?”

Inside, nestled on a velvet cushion, lay the Mask of Fortuna. My breath hitched in my throat as I gazed upon it. The mask was an eerie thing of beauty, crafted from polished obsidian that gleamed under the dim light, its surface sleek and reflective. It was as if it had been pulled straight from the depths of some ancient world. Crimson rubies and emerald sapphires adorned it, set delicately in gold filigree, their fiery hues sparkling as I leaned closer. The intricate Roman symbols etched along its edges seemed to pulse with some forgotten power—laurel wreaths and the ever-turning wheel of Fortuna, as if the mask itself held the whims of fate in its design.

After a glance, the guard nodded and motioned for someone behind him to bring out three identical masks. These masks weren't the ornate opera-style ones used at parties thrown by the Lowe family. They were plain, white half-masks, stripped of any decorative flair.

Even Ah Yin shook her head slightly, "Even I don't know." "Did you buy some masks?" Chen inquired and Ah Yin nodded. With a thought and sliver of spirit energy, she pulled out eleven oval masks with various colors and carvings on them. Out of all the masks, there was only one that suited his black battle robes. A simple black mask carved out of the devil tree's wood but it didn't have any spirituality. The sections of the eyes were bordered by white marking. Taking the mask and trying it on, Chen suddenly looked towards Ah Yin with an intensity she had never felt before. His green eyes locked with her blue eyes as he questioned her calmly, "How do I look?"

X stood before me, distortion mask removed, face finally visible. And it was nobody. Not figuratively. Literally. The face underneath the mask was smooth, featureless—a blank canvas of synthetic skin with no distinguishing characteristics. No nose. No lips. No features at all except two dark spaces where eyes should be.

The sudden absence of his warmth left me feeling strangely empty, but I quickly masked it with a steadying breath. Without another word, Zade handed me a sleek, black mask, it was new and not the one that I was wearing before. I stared at it for a moment, the cold material in contrast to the warmth that still lingered from his touch. He stepped back, giving me space again, his unreadable expression back in place.

The car beeps softly, unlocking. Just as John had described him, dressed in all black complete with a face mask and baseball cap, he is completely hidden behind the thick black dressing. “There he is,” Marsh mutters, eyes narrowing, focusing on his every move. The man slides into the driver’s seat, adjusts the mirror, then sits still for a moment. He exhales. A visible sigh fogs the inside of the windshield briefly. Then, with a brief pause… he reaches up. And removes the mask. Marsh’s hand flies to the keyboard. He slams the space bar and the footage freezes mid frame. The screen blurs for a split second before adjusting and clarifying.
