Zia snickered as she just listened in on them. "Okay next," Gray continued. "Do you know my full name?" He blinked once. "Do you know I'm a freelance makeup artist?" He blinked once. "Do you know I'm your coolest friend?" He blinked a lot of times rapidly. "I see your kindness got knocked out of your brain," she scoffed, pretending to look upset. He blinked twice. "Does it hurt anywhere?" His eyes swiveled momentarily as if checking if he was feeling pain on his body, then he looked back at her and blinked twice.

But his frame was blurry. Then, it was a blackout.

"Can I take off this blindfold, please?" "Yes, you can," Shadrach nodded, taking the blindfold off. Wynter adjusted her eyes to the brightness. Slowly, she removed the blindfold, and her eyes widened in awe. She was right; they were in a garden, but not the one everyone could expect. The indoor garden was a magical oasis. Strings of fairy lights hung from the ceiling, casting a warm, golden hue over the lush greenery. Each plant seemed to shimmer under the light, their leaves glistening like jewels.

He was staring at her unblinkingly and then after a while, he averted his gaze like nothing happened. Weirdo. Bellona muttered and turned back her attention to taking notes. Zephyr was flustered. He didn't expect her to suddenly raise her head and make eye contact with him. He didn't shift his gaze from her immediately because he didn't want her to feel like she caught him so he maintained eye contact for a while.

He muttered. “I can’t see anyone.” I cringed, wondering what the hell was wrong with Malik. I looked around, and I couldn’t still see anyone around. I felt a flash of annoyance wash over me; my body was already riled up, and screaming for his lovely touch, then all of a sudden, he spoilt the whole thing. “Your vision deceives you, Calista. Close your eyes, and look again.” He mumbled. I looked again and I didn’t still see anyone.

He was curious when he saw Blair staring at the documents without blinking for a long time. ‘What’s this about?’

My appetite vanishes all of a sudden and my mind feels blank, like I've just been snapped out of a trance and I'm now seated in this seat, with a fork holding some bacon halfway to my mouth. Bridget is staring at me… and so is someone else. I snap my head backwards to see who that might be but all I meet are a few curious gazes and the sight of a broad clothed back. Great, now I'm paranoid too. Bridget calls out to me, “Antonia?” I turn to her with that same blank energy in my eyes. There’s light worry in her’s, but she gestures to the cup of water beside me. I take it, and I drink it slowly.

So we keep staring. Waiting to see who blinks first.
