Despite this, I blush and begin pulling my hands away only to have them caught in his. He brings them to his lips before his chest and steps closer.

"Then open your eyes and look." I slammed the Enter key. In the next second, the office monitor lit up. So did the long row of electronic screens outside, the ones that usually displayed model students and honor roll lists. The corridor, loud as a marketplace moments earlier, fell silent. Everyone looked up. On the screen was my exam answer sheet. It was blank. Every section stood empty. In the essay box, drawn in thick black ink, was a huge turtle. Beside it, scrawled in wild, arrogant strokes: [What are you staring at? Never seen someone turn in a blank paper?]

Then black. Nothing.

They just stay there, locked in place. Their eyes are open. Empty. Not closed. Not panicked. Not even confused. Just blank. One of them blinks. Slow. There’s no awareness behind it, no reaction, no recognition. Just the motion itself, repeated like a habit the body hasn’t forgotten, even though everything else is gone. Another turns their head. It’s wrong. The movement is stiff, delayed, like something else is pulling the strings and hasn’t quite learned how to do it properly yet. A quiet, uneasy thought slips in.

Right there, impossible to miss in the flickering glow of the firelight, was the prominent, rigid outline of his semi-hard length. He was aroused. A warm, electric shockwave shot straight from Avery's chest down to her toes. Her face burned with a heat so intense she thought she might actually combust. I walked out of the room, note in hand, and spotted Anna just coming around the corner with a cup of coffee in one hand and a clipboard in the other. I waited next to the door and as she approached and noticed me, her face that was once stern and seemingly uncaring grew worried as she asked, "Nathan what's wrong?" When I didn't answer immediately she immediately assumed the worse and asked, "Did... did he reject you?" I looked at her with widened eyes at that and shook my head no before answering her previous question, "Anna I don't think he can see." I said my voice but a mere whisper.
