Blank Staring

But now, his entire pack are against their love, and Lucien must do all he can to save the woman he loves dearly who is also carrying his child. To do this, he has to choose between his life or the life of the woman he loves dearly.

I'm staring at this man who looks exactly like my husband, overwhelmed by fear, as I received a message that read, "He's not your husband!"What's even more bizarre is that the name displayed as the sender of the text on my phone is "My Dear Husband"!Who on earth should I believe?

I woke up to the morning sun shining dimly into my room, directly into my face. The feeling of a rough hand resting lightly on my stomach, I turn over and my eyes widen with shock. How the hell did my Chief end up in my bed? What did I do last night? I tried my hardest to remember what all went down at the mandatory command picnic… I remember going out to a bar outside of base. I remember dancing, after running into a friend from my previous command, that left a year after I got there, because she got transferred to a new command. I remember her buying me shots, to celebrate our reunion and working together again. But then everything went blank….

"Didn't you ask me to marry you? I permit you to wed me," said the raven-haired woman with a straight, blank face. "...Pardon?" "Let's get married." "...Weren't you the one who repeatedly rejected my proposal last night?" "Can't a woman play hard to get?" The man's face twitched. He could barely keep up with her, "Look, once you—" "So, you won't marry me?" A strange glint passed through the man's amber orbs which disappeared quickly just as it came by. "Who's to say I won't?" — In which a commander of a special unit under the PSIA found himself in a contractual marriage with his strange and mysterious neighbor. Little did he know that she's one heck of a little assassin.

"You can't keep running away from me", Ehan said, his face was all serious as his eyes bored into Naira's. Standing her ground, Naira uttered using her utmost effort to look confident, "I am not running away." Ehan went on uttering all confidently, "Yes, you are. But eventually you're going to have to stop. And I'm going to be there no matter how far you go. Because I know" At this point, Naira blurted out sternly interrupting him, "Don't even think like you still know me well when actually you don't even have any idea about this new me." Ehan's confused eyes met Naira’s as she got uttering with an all blank face, "I have put back my pieces differently."

Adrian woke to warmth, too much warmth. His heart nearly stopped when he realized his head was resting against Kaelen’s chest, their legs tangled beneath the sheets. Panic surged. He shoved himself upright, only to freeze when he saw it, thin, glowing red threads coiling around his wrist, binding him to Kaelen. His blood ran cold. “What the hell…?” Adrian whispered, staring at the unmistakable bond mark. Kaelen stirred, blinking awake. For a moment, confusion flickered in his eyes, then shock. He tugged the sheet up to cover himself, gaze darting between Adrian and the red mark linking them. “What did you do? Adrian hissed, his voice breaking. You’re my sister’s fiancé! You’re supposed to be her mate, not...” He trembled as he scrambled for his clothes. Kaelen sat up, still staring at the line as though it mocked him. “I… I don’t know. But this—this isn’t a mistake. Adrian, you’re my mate.” “No!. Adrian’s hands shook as he pulled his shirt over his head. Whatever happened last night...forget it. This is wrong. You hear me? It never happened. Don’t you dare breathe a word of this to anyone.” Kaelen’s voice softened, almost pleading. “Adrian…” But Adrian couldn’t bear to listen. His chest ached as he turned away, slamming the door behind him, leaving Kaelen staring at the red bond that refused to fade. Two souls tied together by fate. One forbidden connection that could destroy them both.

*******Feeling someone's eyes on me I turn to look at the blue-eyed stranger who has his eyes set on me. It feels like his eyes are staring into my soul. It is clear that he heard our conversation as he has a smirk on his face while staring at me. I lick my dry lips and shiver when his eyes move to my lips. I shiver and quickly turn towards Aztec as he pulls me in the direction of what I assume must be the dining room.**** Being an adopted child of the pack, Fenris has always felt like an outsider. Being rejected by his mate along with a murder case to solve, triggers Fenris to find answers about his past. He learns that his parents were murdered by a rogue. Meanwhile Sierra has fallen prey to that same rogue's tricks. Will Fenris avenge his parents death? Will he find his answers or will he lose his mate to the murderer of his parents?

Right when she thought she was going to hit the ground something hard caught her, a pair of arms and when she looked up she was staring into a set of deep gray eyes.....
