"Impossible. You're matching my strength." Blake's smile widened, showing teeth that had become unnaturally sharp. "Not impossible. Just unexpected." That's when I caught Blake's scent on the evening breeze. The smell made my nose wrinkle with disgust. He reeked of wet dog and rotting meat, with an underlying chemical tang that reminded me of the laboratory where he'd injected himself. Virex pulled back and delivered a devastating headbutt that should have shattered Blake's skull. Blake's head snapped backward, blood flowing from his broken nose, but he didn't fall. Instead, he laughed.

But he could smell me. The scent of my milk and my heat drifted down into the pit. It cut through the smell of the slaughter. Kaelen froze. The Butcher raised a fist to crush his skull. Kaelen caught the fist. He stopped the blow dead in the air. He snarled. It was a sound that silenced the arena. "Mine," Kaelen roared. He twisted The Butcher’s arm. Snap. Bone broke. The Butcher shrieked. Kaelen didn't let go. He pulled. He ripped the arm out of the socket.

They don’t waste time as they sprint across the training ground and into the trees, just as the scream comes again, sharper this time, mixed with a snarl. They break through tall trees and bushes and keep going till they arrive at the scene. Castel is on the ground, with blood smearing across her cheek, trying to shield another omega whose arm is a shredded mess, with blood pooling on the ground, and towering over them is a mad wolf, its eyes clouded and jaws snapping wildly.

Maggie grunted, stepped forward and grabbed her by her long red mane. “AHH!” Valeen yelled as she swung her fists in the air. “Let go!” Maggie swung her around by her red mane with both hands tightly secured to her scalp. “I couldn’t find the toilet brush, but I guess this messy bush will do.” “Oh, God! He elevated his eyes from the bloodstream to his brothers who were manhandling Skyla and he screeched while his face went red and trembled, "KILL HER!" The Lycan Rogue who was crouching on the ground punched Skyla hard and the corner of Skyla's lips got broken and blood started pouring out on the ground. As Skyla's face was ducked in the ground, the mud along with her blood smeared all over her cheek.

The long roots were revealed as the pine couldn't hold the power and collapsed to the ground. Hyene launched herself at him while his back was turned, sinking her long teeth into his shoulder. Dimitri roared in anger and grabbed at her head in a desperate attempt to shake her off. Hyene only sunk her bite deeper, yanking her head back with a large chunk of flesh. Dimitri let out another pain-filled screech as he placed some distance between Hyene and himself. Without noticing it, Dimitri backed himself right into another Shifter. An unfamiliar wolf I assumed was Blake snapped at his feet, making him jump back in surprise.

We stood shoulder to shoulder and raised our Hellblades. Leo began to circle us, slow and deliberate, his massive mane flickering with black flame. Each step pressed heat into the sand. Scorpio lingered nearby, his skeletal exoskeleton clicking softly, tail swaying with quiet menace. “You can pick first,” Leo rumbled, his voice thick with amusement. Scorpio let out a dry hiss. “I take the the mouse, the grumpy one is yours.” Pelin shot me a sharp glance. “Lion’s all yours.”

EVELYN Skyla didn’t let out a single cry before the blade pierced her chest. The bashful smile she’d worn just seconds ago froze on her face. Her bluish-green eyes widened ever so slightly in shock at the sudden action. Augus slowly withdraw the blue blade, and Skyla’s body crumpled to the ground with a hollow thud. Blood poured from her wound, spreading like a dark, gruesome carpet beneath her. Melanie, standing just behind Skyla, stumbled back with a shrill. Piercing scream cut through the air like a thunderclap. It was a sound of pure, unfiltered anguish.
