It was only three weeks until Christmas, the busiest time of year for Christmas Cove. At night, it would become a Christmas wonderland, complete with Santa Claus in the gazebo, listening to the wishes of children.

“Nancy said there’s no snow in Phoenix. Does that mean we’re not celebrating Christmas?” “Of course, we’re celebrating it, Cecilia. Didn’t I just say there’s no snow? Today, at least for a few hours, felt like a day of peace. By the time I made it downstairs, the smell of fresh pine filled the air, mingling with the scent of coffee and cinnamon rolls greeted me.
