We both froze, holding our breath in the thick, tense silence. Suddenly, a bright, blinding beam of white light cut straight through the dark red shadows of the room. The security flashlight beam swept directly across the generator right over our heads. The circle of white light moved slowly down the side of the unit, tracking across the edge before stopping dead for an agonizing three seconds on Leo’s dark jacket sleeve.

I gripped onto Cas' hand tightly, for fear of falling or getting lost in this expansive darkness. I could see a light in the distance. It was blue. As we got closer, I noticed it was a shade of light blue that I had never seen before. It was absolutely beautiful, but that wasn't the part that made me gasp. No, when we turned I saw the source of the light. There were large crystals all around. There were many shapes and sizes, some even taller than me. All along the walls grew bioluminescent algae that gave the place its source of light. It was reflected by the crystals turning it into that beautiful light blue. The sight was breathtaking.

A lone shelf stood against one wall, showcasing papers upon papers of what she relieved to be office documents. The lighting, a subtle interplay of shadows and illumination, added depth to the bunker's aesthetic. Recessed fixtures cast a soft glow across the room, their muted warmth in perfect harmony with the grayscale palette. I grabbed the broom and, finding sudden strength, rammed my foot into the wooden handle, breaking it in half.
