As he goes toward the door, I make my way out of the bed and hurry to the bathroom, my mind filling with scenes and more questions. After closing the door, I take a deep breath and turn on the light. Even through squinty eyes, the reflection in the mirror isn’t nearly as bad as I expected. My blonde hair is a wavy mess, and my blue eyes have a bit of red, but it isn’t anything that can’t be fixed with a brush and a few eye drops. I quickly splash water on my face and reach for a toothbrush.

She is a mess, and yet she is still so damn beautiful. “Thank you,” she whispers, and I can see her trying to fight back the tears. “We can head back when you’re ready,” I offer, wanting to move on already. It was like a clear liquid to clean the eyes from dust or pollen that accidentally went to the eyes,” I retorted. “Ah, I get your point,” she said. “Hm... by the way where are Mom and the others going? Why is it so quiet?” I asked once more. “They’re visiting somewhere. They'll be home later,” Bella Gardener replied.

I peel the wet clothes off my body and step into the hot steaming water. I think I spend over an hour in the shower not wanting to leave. When I'm done with my shower and washing the smell of the sea off my body. I step out. The mist fills the bathroom covering the mirror and I swipe my hand across the mirror. "What the hell," I say startled, noticing that the irises of my eyes are now blood red. I shut my eyes tightly and when I reopen them they're back to the normal shade of silver. Quickly, I moved the bottle away and wiped my lips with the back of my hand. My tongue accidentally brushed my lips. The bleach tasted awful. I retched and spat on the floor. The awful taste lingered on the tip of my tongue, but I had another problem. There was a burning sensation in my eyes. Tears swiftly flooded into them, causing my vision to be blurry. I pinched my hospital gown and then wiped my eyes with it.

All the moans from the pain left me panting for air, with only the ventilator to keep me from suffocating. Suddenly, the ventilator stopped, and the air purification machine beside me stopped, plunging my surroundings into silence. Without the ventilator's help, my breathing grew rapid, and my pain grew even more intense. With the air purification system shut down, the supposedly sterile room was now no different from any other location. The surgery to remove eyeballs was an extremely risky procedure, and without proper environmental conditions, an infection would be inevitable. A confused voice rang out from outside.
