Her fingers danced across something on his forehead and he groaned. "No." Tobin answered her. "This is...this..." He trailed off, unable to find the words. Beckett felt a cold tendril of dread thread through him. He lifted his hand to his forehead, brushing something hard and velvety jutting from his brow. He scrambled away from Bailey, panic forcing him toward the burbling fountain in the center of the courtyard. He leaned over, catching sight of his reflection in the broken water. He reeled back, turning to his companions in horror. Two proud ivory antlers jutted from his brow, the tips stained crimson from his blood.

“You came back for her.” Kaela’s voice echoed behind him, distant “Aeryn” but when I turned, she wasn’t there. Only shadow. “She weakens you,” Cael said again, stepping closer. “You feel it, don’t you? You’re slipping. Becoming something else.” My hand gripped his blade, but when I drew it and slashed, it passed through the figure like smoke. The wind picked up. The mirror of the Frostfang crest shattered behind me. Cold magic swirled at the edges of my vision.

“Going once, going twice sol-” “ A thousand grams!” A voice interrupted, earning gasps from the crowd. I swallowed the invisible saliva clinging to my tongue as my eyes searched desperately for who would want to risk that kind of amount on a cursed woman. “That’s ridiculous for a demon, a thousand-“ “She is a Nymph!” A man dressed in a cotehardie and black boots with a feather hat that almost covered his face strode forward. My breath caught in my throat as I stared at the devilish beauty underneath the hat. “A thousand and she’s mine,” he blurted, holding the gaze of the man who stood beside me.

She was a true Queen dedicated to serving the interests of her subjects and also made the right decisions for them. She whipped up the shrinking fluid she made from bizarre ingredients and gave it to me to drink. Haziel had prepared a medicine beforehand to curb the side effects and gave it to me shortly after I had drank the shrinking fluid and returned to normal size. The Queen led me out of the room down to another room that had the armour. I looked on at the shining silver armour and realised it was almost a perfect fit for me.

He wouldn’t give us any more information, only more riddles. I swung my sword and decapitated him in one swift move, his neck cutting like butter. No moment in my life had ever been so satisfying. As his head fell to the ground, I saw movement. At first I thought it was one of Sir Duggar’s men, but they were too small, too delicate. I ordered my men to start burning while I watched, my eyes scanning the shadows looking for her. I noticed her again a few tents away. She was making quick progress toward the exit and I couldn’t help but follow.

Ana's eyes rounded at the plants in front of her so that it didn't feel strange if after passing through the two trees the atmosphere and air around her changed from before. Ana did not know that she had just passed through the seal that the werewolf nation had put up to protect the residence and was invisible to ordinary eyes. I was determined. The certificate read Aranelda Tirisil. I called for my Grimoire. I flipped through the pages, looking for a spell to feel a life chain. The book took over once it finally knew what I wanted. I placed my hands over the items and began to read. I didn’t know what language it was, but it seemed to flow from my tongue easily. I’d have to ask Selene about that later.

Heron remains nonchalant. Aunt Katina faintly extends a smile that does not sync with her Nordic blue eyes with triangular glitters at the outer canthi. She daintily pats her side bun of braided ash-blonde hair, which reveals the glittery sigillum on her upper arm that all fairies have. While uncle Cosmo cocks his head, giving a nod, and flipped his black fringes from his cobalt blue orbs that glint eccentrically.
