I wanted to ask for help, but I couldn't call out. Suddenly, I felt a thick lump in my throat which was coming up to my mouth, knowing I couldn't hold it, I bent to the side of the bed and vomited out everything which cleared my mind a bit. I looked at the ground and was shocked to see the red spot. It was my blood! I felt fear grip me. I looked at the ground in a daze. It's been long since I had this dream, these dreams had faded away since the day Kennedy started sleeping next to me. But it seems the name of that pack brought back memories again. Those painful memories.

I woke up to a fog of pain swirling in my head, an aching throat, and my arms and legs feeling like they had run a marathon in the night. The first thing I did was reach out to the men to know if there had been any sign of Caden or his people. Unfortunately, there was no luck. It wasn't until I was brushing my teeth that the memory of the dream came to me, and I froze immediately, trying to recall all of it. What the hell? Strangely enough, I could still feel the taste of blood on my tongue. It wasn't normal, and it bothered the hell out of me. Fully dressed and ready for work, I stopped by Lyric's room. She opened up when I knocked, still wearing her pyjamas. She was on afternoon shift.

Eyes glued at the ceiling, I wonder if this is how dreaming really works, because it fucking sucks.

Maybe I am not hallucinating; my heart is racing so fast; if he is real, it is worse than any nightmare. I have never been able to harm the monsters in my dreams, so this time, I am just going to__ I bite on his bottom lip, with enough force, until i can almost feel my teeth meeting together. He groans low in his throat, and a chill trickles down my spine when I see the blood coating his lip and taste the metal, his glazed eyes also appear to be more focused. My body is startled with cold dread, I have no more doubts, this is happening!

I take this time to compare his eyes with the Golden flame that I saw in my dream just now. Am I thinking about him so much that I have started to dream about the colour of his eyes? The thought is frightening and it makes me avert my eyes away. Gradually, I recall what I did. I sit up in the bed and look down at my body. Blood is everywhere, on my neck, my stomach and I feel it on my face as well. Some wounds are still bleeding but nothing hurts deep inside me. It’s like all my bones have healed and I am not sure how. Maybe, I never broke any bone.

Riven At three in the morning, a strong vision of fire and blood came again. Jolting awake, I found myself drenched in sweat with my hands shaking so badly I had to grip the sheets to steady them. Blood filled my mouth even though I wasn't bleeding. The vision burned in my mind. So much screaming. Voices I knew but couldn't place. Forcing myself to breathe, I counted. In. Out. In. Out.

I suddenly opened my eyes, drenched in sweat. My heart hammered against my ribs like it wanted to escape. The tent was quiet, sunlight softly filtering through the fabric. “Oh my God… it was just a dream,” I sighed, relief crashing over me. But the images lingered Liam’s intense eyes, his hands on me, the way my body had betrayed me so completely. Who on earth has dreams like that about their friend? About their complicated, once-best-friend-turned-enemy? I felt deeply embarrassed, almost horrified. It was like a twisted horror movie playing in my subconscious.
