I suffered alone. Because that’s what blindness does. It doesn’t just hurt you. It destroys everyone around you, and you don’t even realize you’re doing it until it’s too late to take any of it back. I was pregnant. And he didn’t know.

My vision blurred. And then—darkness.

It coated every inch of my being and I found myself leaning dangerously close to him, instead of pulling away. “Why are you leaning so close to me?” He blurted and my eyes widened, immediately realizing that the hell I was doing. I jumped away from him, clearly my throat awkwardly as I lied, “I was just testing how blind you are. Apparently, not blind enough.” “Ouch!” He chuckled. “I'm not sure if that is an insult or not. I am blind in the sense that my vision is blurred out sometimes. I can see things to an extent depending on the lighting. I can see movements, colours, just the blurred version. Same with people.”

He said soon Lavina would see the whole things in the world. Her heart was beating fast. Feeling immeasurably nervous when she heard the doctor's words. Was it true that she would be able to see soon? For the first time in her life she would be able to see again. He said that Lavina was lucky because her blindness was caused solely by corneal damage only, so her eyes could be saved. And that was the surprising fact. The doctor predicted Lavina was born with normal eyes but not sure what happened to her that caused her to go blind. It was really bad Lavina wasn't immediately treated.

“Unfortunately you can’t do much for her training. But yes, you’re both going to need each other to face things ahead. However, her training is going to be a little more difficult now that her sight is back.” Levantus looks thrown and confused while Odessa tilts her head in consideration. “What do you mean? Odessa getting her sight back should be a strength.” Odessa suddenly realizes what’s being said. “Because vision is a distraction. After not having it for so long, it’s loud in its existence. Being blind, I had to focus on all of my other senses, including internally to survive. She’s saying it’s going to be harder to focus like that with having my eye sight back.”

Sticky. Blood. It trickled into my fingers, a slow tide that felt heavy and suffocating. Panic clawed at me, I tried to open my eyes, but it was useless. "Well, I don't want you to worry too much but the blunt force of the accident had injured your husband's eyes and had damaged his optic nerve! He may be blind." The doctor finally said and Claudia wondered if she had heard the doctor right. "What, what exactly do you mean by that doctor?" Claudia asked perplexed. "I'm so sorry!" The doctor simply said.
