She said, making him frown at her in confusion. "Huh? I don't think I have heard of something like that ever." He said. "I will explain this to you." She said and he nodded at her to go on. "Okay, so, what you have to do is keep looking at me in the eyes, without blinking. I am going to say some words while you do that and you have to answer the first thing that comes to your mind after hearing those words. You have to answer them in a second, without thinking. If you blink, it will mean you are thinking." She explained and he heard her with concentration. "So you are up for it?" She asked with raised eyebrows.

We had created signals for emergencies, for moments when words couldn’t be used. The simplest one was light. Three flashes meant danger. Three flashes in rhythm meant location. It was supposed to be our last resort, something we would never have to use. But now, it was all I had. I looked around the room, forcing my eyes to adjust to the dim light. Two blinks. “So you know how you got there?” Two blinks. “Did someone take you?” One blink. “Do you know who took you?” Two blinks.

I had carried it for seven cruel months, so what if he decides to pour his anger on us? My fear intensified when the watch on my wrist began blinking red.
