I asked, wondering at the amount of smoke in the room. “You could get kicked out, or worse, expelled!!" I added. “You need to chill out. You might need some of this," she said passing me a blunt.

Beep. The three of them froze. Damein’s head snapped up. “Do you guys hear that?” The sound grew louder. Beep. Beep. Beep. Don turned, scanning the corners. “It’s coming from—” There it was. "Are you okay, ma'am?" he asks, and before I can answer, he barges past me, looking around wildly. "I heard your smoke detector go off, and there was smoke coming out from under your door."
