He went into the blocked contacts list and stopped. I watched his face. His expression shifted in that quiet tightening that happened when something confirmed a suspicion you had been hoping was wrong. He turned the phone toward me. Two numbers. Both blocked. His number, blocked from reaching mine and my number also blocked from reaching his. Someone had gone into his settings and blocked us from each other quietly and cleanly, without either of us knowing it had happened. Every message I had sent since the hallway and every call he said he had tried to make over the weekend…none of it had gone anywhere because we had both been cut off without our knowledge.

He picked it up and clenched his hands, holding the phone tightly after reading the vulgar text on it. "When will this person give up?!" he said through gritted teeth. He'd blocked 10 different numbers in a span of one week and still, the texts kept coming. He dialed a number on his phone and it was picked up within seconds. "Hello, it's me, Julian. I need you to check this number for me. I need information on any and everything you can find in 24 hours. Can you do that? Okay, I'll send you the details... sure, I'll await your text."

I hand the phone back and watch him navigate to my settings. “He’ll just get another number,” I say quietly. “You know he will. He’s not going to stop.” “Then I’ll block that one too,” Jeremy says without looking up from the screen. “Every single number he uses. I don’t care if it takes blocking a hundred different numbers.” He taps a few more times and hands the phone back. “There. It’s done.” I stare at my phone and feel my shoulders sag, what’s the point? because blocking a number doesn’t actually stop anything, doesn’t actually protect me, doesn’t change the fact that Ryan is out there somewhere planning his next move.

Please try again later.” I tried again, my fingers shaking. But this time it was, “This number has been blocked." The words blinked across my screen like a slap in the face. I stared at the screen, barely breathing. My lips parted in disbelief, a small sound escaping me. “Ha… Hahaha! This motherfucker blocked me! He fucking blocked me!” I almost hurled the phone across the toilet. Almost. My fingers gripped it tighter at the last moment, trembling so violently that I felt my knuckles burn.

There was no doubt about it. Some hacker had prevented Zivon, Xavia, his, and his grandmother from contacting each other! This form of blocking didn’t require the affected people to blacklist each other, and apparently, the two messages had only been possible since Zivon and Xavia had left the hacker’s service area! However, it still resulted in the error C code.

Sia replied, “I don’t know, Someone was calling me again and again, but I was not picking up the call, but lastly, I picked up, and now that one is not replying.” Sia explained this to Lara while giving her phone to Lara to check the number.
