On the next was a small figurine of a girl, her arms forming an ‘o’ above her head as she was forever frozen in a pirouette. On another was an orb the size of a softball, smaller than the one at castle mist. The inside of this orb was smoky, white tendrils twisting and curling within the dark surface of the glass. The magic that seemed to radiate from it in near-undetectable waves was different from the others. Shapes churned within the smoke, forming rapidly before breaking apart. There was a tug in my gut, the urge to see what those shapes were had me leaning in. “Rachel, do not touch the orb.”

I cried, and I started to panic. "Bobby!! Mira cried weakly. 'Bobby, please don't leave us. " "Dad, please wake up. Don't leave us." Brent sobbed. "Bobby, please." I sobbed. "Please help me heal him. " I mentally begged as I thought of the orb. I smiled when the orb appeared on my fingertip and hovered on Bobby's body. Then, slowly, black smoke came out of his body. "Black Magic. " Mira whispered. She rushed to one of their drawers, and when she returned, she was carrying a vial. She chanted a spell, and the black smoke went into the vial, and she quickly closed it.

I don't know how I managed it to be hard enough to wake him, but I'm glad it was. His dark blue irises I've longed to stare into seems to have lost its shine while I was away. The long nights full of stress is evident in the dark circles dangling under his under eye. "Hi.", I managed to say in a low soft raspy voice. Only then I realise the immense thirst I'm feeling. "Am I dreaming Bella or are you finally back with me?", Noah asks in a tone so low only I could hear the words he spoke. Still too weak to form many words I just gave him the best small smile I could muster.

I need to gather all my senses so I can retrieve the Orbis. Since they can't go anywhere near the lake, it has to be done by me. An Orbis is round and glossy, like a pearl, only it is bigger than a pearl. And an Orbis can only be found in a Mystical Lake. One thing that makes the Orbis special is that it can take a person to any place or a different realm. All you need to do is step on the Orbis and think about the place you wished to be.

“Weird stuff has been happening to me lately, what if I like, make it blow up in your house or something?” He chuckled and shoved it into my hands. I held it gingerly and tried my best not to drop it. When I confirmed that it would not in fact blow up his house, my grip became more firm. As I looked at it, the red colors began to swirl throughout the orb, it took on a blue glow, and then I saw darkness.

Kendrick saw this and extended his hand as fast as he could to catch the shiny violet orb. However, just when he was about to grab the shiny orb, it changed its color and turned into shiny Indigo. Also now the orb even started moving in a random direction. It almost seemed as if the orb was trying to escape outside the confines of the grid. Unfortunately, the 3-D grid had a boundary maintained by EchoCube. Kendrick made an irritated face since he wasn't able to catch the orb when it was stationary. However, soon enough, a few more red vibrating orbs appeared inside the grid out of nowhere. Kendrick immediately caught one this time.

“A hooded figure. Others were there too with robes… black as night. Chanting. They were controlling the ritual. And Zeke didn’t stop them. He just watched.” I stepped back. One foot. Then another. “No…” I shook my head slowly. “No, that—maybe it wasn’t real. Or maybe it was something symbolic. Not a memory, but a warning—” “Elora.” His voice was quiet but heavy. “I've read about orbs like this in books. The orb is not a prophet. It doesn’t imagine. It just remembers.” I stared at him. The words hung in the air like a noose.

Gordon gave him a thoughtful look, “Under what pretense?” “There is something that could be of use in this situation.” “Oh?” Gordon hummed, appearing more intrigued, “Is that so? And what could that be?” “The Orb is often used in times when there is an outsider on trial that cannot be trusted to tell the truth or when memories cannot be accessed.” Alexander waved his hand. I thought there would be an uproar of conversation at the mention of the Orb, but nothing. You could hear a pin drop it was so silent. Not even the wind blew through the trees.

"It can sense one's cultivation level. Only those who have reached the level of a martial lord can trigger a reaction. "The orb will glow in one of seven colors—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, or violet—each representing a different stage. Give it a try." Without hesitation, Chase channeled a thread of his true energy into the orb. Immediately, the transparent orb lit up with a dazzling white glow that was intense. "What's going on? Isn't it supposed to show a color—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, or violet? What's with the white light?" someone in the crowd asked, confused.

And I knew, without a doubt, that it was showing me something I needed to understand. August had warned me before—that the orb had layers even he hadn’t unlocked. But now I could feel it myself. It was like a heartbeat inside me, echoing louder than before, and with every throb of that pulse, I saw glimpses. A flash of glowing eyes. A figure wrapped in shadows. And always… a voice, whispering words I couldn’t quite make out. Later that evening, I asked August again about the orb’s core. He looked at me carefully and then said, “The orb has an internal power, Nora. One not tied to spells or energy. It holds a form of life—ancient and stubborn. It doesn’t just obey. It chooses.”
