“I had to be here. The orb’s power is a beacon, and I never miss a chance to see it shine.” I didn’t move, my hands clenched at my sides, the orb’s light seeping through my tunic, warm and restless. “You’re not welcome,” I said, my voice hard, loud enough for every soul in the arena to hear. “Leave. Now.” The crowd murmured, their eyes darting between us, fear and curiosity mixing in their whispers. The orb flared, its power humming in my chest, ready to lash out if I let it.

I closed my eyes and allowed my thoughts to focus on unlocking the memory orb. I sensed the magical energy emanating from the glass sphere and let my own energy flow into it, absorbing some of its power. I slowed my breathing, listening to the vibrations passing through my fingers and into my body. I imagined the orb as a small, delicate package, tied with multiple taut strings that protected its contents from being revealed.

Steps spiraled downward into darkness. “Looks like the ruins have more to say,” Elandra murmured. They descended cautiously. The air grew colder with each step until breath became mist. At the bottom lay a cavern bathed in silver-blue light, with walls covered in glowing glyphs. At the center stood a pedestal. Upon it, a small orb pulsed with soft light. Aria approached first. “What is it?” Elandra examined it carefully. “An Echo Orb. They were used to store visions… memories.”

The stone of the square was liquefying, turning into a river of red data that flowed toward the Root Orb my father had smashed. "Silas!" I called out. Silas was struggling to stay upright. The crimson energy was toxic to his shadows; every time he tried to manifest a shield, the red light would incinerate it instantly. He looked at me, and I saw the agony in his gaze—the agony of a protector who was watching his world burn and his Queen disappear. "The orb..." Silas gasped, pointing toward the center of the red vortex. "It’s a localized virus. If we can neutralize the source... the format might stop. But I can't get close! It’s... it’s anti-matter for my soul, Elara!"

His hands clutched at the wound, blood seeping between his fingers. "The oath is broken," Darius whispered. Lancelot fell. Darius stepped over his body, then dragged it by his hand and approached the vault. He placed Alpha Lancelot's palm against the runes. They flared, screamed, then went dark. He just got electrocuted by a very weird yet beautiful orb. I am about to refute him but a sudden occurrence has taken my breath away. Another orb in orange starts to emerge from another grave. It was very strange. Madaline stood outside the orb for what felt like hours. The barrier she kept in place was enough to keep people out but when it came to heavenly tribulation, it still hit the orb. The orb shattered in a few places so she was very worried. The color of the orb changed right before her eyes and the cracks began to heal.
