He was shaking like a leaf and I grabbed him by the arm towards the little drum laying at the corner of the room and without warning, I soaked his head inside of it. Lara took his gun from him, she noticed more men were running towards her, “Oh man! Where are they all coming from?!” She flicked her guns again, rolled them in between her fingers and triggered. Within a few seconds five more men laid dead on the stairs.

With my trembling hands, I grabbed the handle of the door, and it had just opened when Bell's scream froze us. I furrowed my eyebrows and turned back only to see her pale face with widened eyes. She covered her mouth with her hands and panicked. We followed her gaze and stared at the sink. The sight I saw sent chills down my spine. Blood was flowing instead of water from the tap, which had blown us all away. I choked in the air as she showed us the blood across her lips. "I told you, Bell. But still, you didn't listen to me."

I took a deep breathe and position myself near the window. The unknown man soon made it's appearance. He was bald and had a lots of scar carved on his naked torso. He scanned the room carefully like he was looking for something. Or should I say, looking for us. Luckily, he did not turn his head from where I was standing still. He looked down again from where his friends was. "There's no one in here! Are you sure you've seen the Albino girl in here?" He exclaimed. I heard no response on his questions. But before he could tilt his head towards my direction, I swiftly slit his throat with the poisonous herb I smeared on it.

She did not even have the time to turn her head when the dagger plunged and drew her blood, and the only thing that was on her mind before she lost her consciousness was her two months old baby. The cry of a baby echoed in the room, but Tren merely looked at the child before taking the blood of the she-wolf he killed and drinking it without hesitation.

"No I can't get pregnant, my parents will kill me." She thought he was going to rape her. Some vamps just feed and then kill; they do it without caring about how painful it is, or how much their victims scream. Others, like this one, played with their food. They had sick, twisted minds, and tortured people before they drank. It actually wasn't uncommon for them to rape people either. Some are even worse, my dad once dealt with a vamp that used to skin his victims alive. Those are the truly evil vamps, not that all vamps aren't evil, some are just more so than others. The ones that aren't quite so twisted, pick a random victim, snap their neck, have a meal, and move on with their lives. Cold

The growls and snarls blended with cries, shrieks, and gruesome noises of grumbling and choking. I couldn't comprehend what was happening or why I was still alive. I struggled to open my eyes and shifted my exhausted body toward the fading noises. Once my eyes regained focus, the terrifying sight stopped the breath in my throat. Slaughter. The vicious flow of blood turned the ground around me into thick, sticky mud. As the dead lycans gave out their final breaths, they shifted into their human forms, and now there was only one beast standing—the black lycan that killed them all.

A part of the ritual included being immersed in a flower and herb bath first, then sucking out the energy of the prey through their genitals. A follow-up ritual which included a pig sacrifice and some incantations were next. After which the prey would be rendered powerless and the person who carried out the ritual would have gained the power of the person they preyed on. At the back of the book in what I assumed to be Duke’s penmanship was a list of people whose energy he and Valeria had consumed and plans to overthrow Arnou and forcefully claim the Lycanthropy. From the list, it seemed Duke had first begun by consuming the energy of his servants

As Jo led Dante toward the hunting ground, the noise of the gathering crowd grew louder and louder. Jo’s stomach twisted in disgust. Every year, the Dark Slayer pack held their "traditional hunt", a brutal bloodsport where captured slaves were hunted down and killed. They weren’t just demons, either. Many were wandering elves, half-fairies, and other magical creatures caught near the no-man’s border. Creatures that didn’t deserve to die. Alpha Jayden took perverse pride in these hunts, flaunting them as some glorious tradition.
