My eyes suddenly got blurry, sleep weirdly filling my eyes. What the hell? Why am I suddenly sleepy? The more I fought it, the more my body gave in, and just like that, I fell asleep.

I stared at my face in the mirror; my eyebags are quite noticeable, so I covered them with concealer, making me look like a walking dead because my face looks dull. It's his fault; I can't sleep properly at night since that happened. It feels like I'm having nightmares about him! So here I am now, feeling very lethargic, not knowing what to do. I feel like I'm still pale. I might even look like a vampire because I'm so sluggish. I've been working from home for days, which has puzzled my brothers.

I rarely sleep, my mind is never at rest to actually sleep or maybe insomnia had already seeped deeper into my system than I had expected.

I plopped down on the bed and closed my eyes, letting everyone wash over me. I took a leave from work to avoid being bombarded with questions. I looked like a zombie. My eyes were bloodshot, and the dark circles around them were alarming. Having stayed up all night, thinking back to the precious time I spent with Pa James, I barely had sufficient rest. I slept at the crack of dawn, but it wasn't enough to soothe my soul.

My head is already bursting and I could hardly keep my eyes open due to lack of sleep and the headache that has accompanied my sleep deprivation. Maybe I should have talked to her sooner. At least we would have gotten some lead about that person who had literally robbed us our peace of mind. As much as I hate her or at least try to, I won’t deny the fact that my sleep deprived eyes would get the much needed sleep its craving, in her presence. There would be no nightmare or blood and I would not be waking up sweating.

Najmah’s eyes drooped low as she stared out into space, her mind traveling back to two days back when she got her heart possibly broken.
