“They were alive and well when I left.” Rancid stepped over to the control center and punched a few keys on the video monitor screen. He found what he was looking for. The camera in the commons showed a picture of a handful of vampires sitting around at tables, and the floor covered in blood. Rancid moved the camera and pointed it at the pod. He could see the door was wide open and blood covered the floor all around it. “Looks like they’re dead now.” Rancid said. “Looks like it,” Bohdan replied.

Everything is just the same, everyone will always end with their death. She could not feel any remorse anymore, there's only one thing she wants and that is to have the man she wanted. The servants led her inside the dark room, she heard the click from the door that it was locked. "It's been a while Finesia," she heard the baritone voice speaks. Her eyes suddenly changed, the blue and bright yellow colored pupils was already visible making him grin from ear to ear. "You've grown," he said and walked closer to her. She was just looking at him, even the dark room can't hide the appearance of the man she once thought that was a normal human being, but she was wrong.

She saw numerous portraits of people she didn't know. Celeste saw a brown wooden door. Allastair opened the room and entered first before her. She stifled a loud gasp when she saw the room. The room was painted plain white and the floor had black colored tiles. The bed was huge and had white covers. She roamed her eyes around the room and she saw that there was a huge bathroom and a walking closet. She simply came to a halt when she noticed some clothes on a man. "Why are there clothes here?" "This is our bedroom." he said with conviction.

He walks inside. The lobby is empty. A desk, a chair, a dusty chandelier. The air smells of old smoke. Nathaniel crosses to the stairs. I follow. Marcus follows. Our footsteps echo on the wooden steps. Room 14. Nathaniel knocks. Silence. He knocks again. The door opens. Celeste stands in the doorway. Her face is pale, her hair tangled, her eyes wide. She is thinner than I remember. Her hands shake. She looks at Nathaniel. She looks at me. She looks at Marcus.

A chandelier made of solid gold hung in the middle of the large square room, emitting dim rays of light. Velvet carpets lined the floor, and dark wood paneling outfitted the walls. A dozen sections of the room were walled off with sheer curtains. I could briefly see outlines behind one of the curtains of a person on their knees and the other standing up straight. Scattered moans bounced off the walls. "This is where you'll be staying, dear." Celeste turned to face me, her amber eyes flashing a bright red as if she was aroused by something—maybe the moans.

Red bloomed instantly on her pale skin. She stared at me, stunned. I leaned in close enough to smell her fear beneath the jasmine soap. “That was for the night you stood in my mother’s bedroom and smiled while Silas cut her open.” Celeste’s breath hitched. I stepped back. “Now. The hearth.” She didn’t move. I tilted my head. “Or I can have you cleaning chamber pots in the barracks. Your choice.” Her hands shook as she turned to the fireplace. She dropped to her knees on the cold stone and began scrubbing with the brush left there.

Celeste snaps, venom sharp in her voice. I turn, just as she hurls the contents of her wine glass at me. The cold liquid hits like a slap. A deep red stain blooms across the bodice of my dress, seeping into the silk like blood. I freeze. The room is dead silent except for the faint clatter of the empty wine glass hitting the floor. And then… “Oh my God!” Claire’s voice cuts through like a knife as she storms into the room, eyes wide in horror. “Celeste, what the hell did you just do?”

CELESTE “Water…” I groaned from my sleep, reaching the nightstand for the bottle of water I'd usually keep there, but nothing. My throat felt dry and I could already feel the ache forming in my head before I opened my eyes. The first thing I noticed was that the ceiling was the wrong colour. Instead of my cream-coloured plaster, I was staring at a room painted in a deep black and dark slate grey. When did I ask for my room to be repainted? Even if I did, why would I choose something so masculine?

Seraphina’s room looked like a warzone. Shards of broken perfume bottles glinted on the marble floor. Her designer heels were scattered across the rug like forgotten chess pieces. Her vanity mirror lay cracked down the middle, reflecting her distorted image back at her. She stood in the center of it all, chest heaving, fingers trembling with rage. “He chose her,” she hissed under her breath. “That filthy little stray…” The door burst open, and in walked Celeste, dressed in an elegant cream pantsuit, perfectly composed as always. Her heels clicked against the marble as she surveyed the destruction without a flicker of surprise.

My footsteps echoed in the empty hallways as I approached the room meant for Kai. Thankfully, there were no CCTV cameras on this floor, so I had no worries. I paused outside the door, my pulse racing. After a quick glance around to ensure no one was watching, I turned the handle and stepped inside. The soft hum of medical equipment filled the air, and someone had drawn the curtains in the room. The she-wolf lay still on the hospital bed, various monitors beeping softly around her. Her face was pale, framed by tangled strands of hair. I quickly locked the door, my hands shaking as I pulled out Celeste’s vial. The liquid seemed to glow faintly in the fluorescent lightning.
