Shoving my way out from under his heavy ass, I sniffed around him, finding the blood. When I found the small cuts on his back, I licked them clean. Licking his wounds healed them right up, and Merrick idled the whole time I cleaned him.

The panic in my chest is so extreme that I almost can’t breathe. But just when I thought it’s going to get even worse, it disappears. And I’m back on the bed, right under Roman. But we’re no longer tangled in each other’s arms. He’s kneeling in front of me, and I’m sitting upright on the bed. “What happened?” I ask, looking around and confusion and finding a little pool of blood on the bed. “What the fuck is that?” Roman stares at me in disbelief. “You bled. A lot. You bled too much, I would say that. That blood is from you. From where I bit you.”

“But your wolf’s losing control. That bond’s stronger than any I’ve ever seen. It’s not normal.” He turned toward the others. “Back to work,” he ordered. The warriors scattered, glancing nervously in my direction. When they were gone, Ronan faced me again. “You can’t keep ignoring this. The curse, the prophecy, it’s all tied to her.” I rubbed my face with both hands. “You think I don’t know that?” “She’s the one from the Blood Moon legend. The mate born under the mark of red light. The one who can end or renew your bloodline.”

"You want a puppet who'll nod and smile. However, now the puppet's strings are cut, and you're freaking out." Francis' expression turned icy. "I'm not freaking out." "Then why switch my meds?" "Then come, let's go to our room. Tonight, we try this magic." They left the library and walked toward their private chambers, holding hands through the corridors. Reaching the room, Cassian closed the door and turned to Adrian. "Before we begin this magic," Cassian said, his voice solemn, "I need to create a blood bond between us. It might hurt a bit, but only for a moment." Adrian nodded, extending his hand. Cassian drew a small dagger, made a tiny cut on his own palm, and then did the same to Adrian's hand, keeping his touch as gentle as possible.

But I only grinned at him, revelling in my victory. Suddenly, he attacked my neck from behind, pulling my head back by my hair. He unleashed his inner monster, biting my neck and sucking my blood with an insatiable hunger. I turned him around to face me and captured his lips with mine. He gripped my waist, pulling me closer, and we kissed passionately, our bodies igniting with desire. It wasn't a normal kiss—it was filled with both love and the taste of blood. He bit and sucked the blood from my lips. I was the happiest person alive, knowing that I was satisfying my vampire boyfriend's hunger.
