June's eyes blurred for a moment, as she tried to make out the people from the bright light that attacked her eyes. Lucy's jaws dropped open as she stared at June, eyes open and sitting up. "J-June?" Her lips quivered and the disbelief was clear in her eyes. "Lucy?" June managed a small voice, tiny and easy to miss. The sound of Lucy's phone slipping from her hands and hitting the floor filled the air. "June..?" Lucy stepped out of Liam's hold, refusing to blink for fear of the sight of June disappearing from her sight. "You're awake..." Her voice was soft and her tears were unstoppable.

“You’ve been out all night. It’s already morning.” Reluctantly, I opened my eyes. The sunlight was spilling into the room through the thin curtains, painting the space gold. I blinked a few times until my vision cleared, and I saw Lucy standing by the bed, fully dressed in a pale-blue blouse and black skirt. Her hair was tied neatly in a bun, and she looked ready for work. “Good morning,” she said warmly, her tone as bright as the sunlight. Astrid was wild and unruly, always trying to surface and take over. Lucy couldn't have that with her human foster parents that would not end well. Her only source of comfort was Liam Axel's wolf. I wore an emerald green super-short dress that showed my endless legs and paired it with an open-toe nude pump. Lucy’s phone rang, and she snatched it from the bed. “What’s up, babe?” she began, all eyes watching her. “Are you sure?” she warily said, cautiously eyeing me. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea.” She bit her bottom lip. “Ok, I’ll see how I can engage her in your game.” She sighed and hung up the phone.
