Crown of an Empress
Some looked like large roses, daisies, and even lilies.
While some large flowers were submerged in the ice, others were formed from fallen snow and the moisture from the lake, glistening like diamonds. The frozen petals were a magnificent shade of blue and white, their edges curled and twisted as if caught in a gentle breeze.
As they approached the lake, the crunching of snow beneath their feet punctuated the stillness and silence of the surrounding winter landscape.
“This looks so magical,” Emery commented as her eyes continued to scan the place.
But when the breeze came blowing past her, she shivered under its cold touch.
