Then, suddenly, white flakes drifted down. At first, they looked like dust carried by the wind. But as more fell, they became unmistakable. It was snowing. She pushed the window open, and a freezing gust rushed into the room. Ignoring the biting cold, Danice reached out her hand. Several snowflakes landed on her palm, turning her fingers red. “…It’s snow.” The first snowfall. The night, painted with a dim moon, created a mesmerizing landscape. Danice wished she had her phone to capture it—she wanted to share this quiet beauty with Renee.

Lily There’s nothing quite like the quiet after a snowfall. Up here, the world feels suspended in time pine trees draped in white, rooftops sugar-dusted, and the slopes stretching out like a canvas waiting for the first brushstroke.
