The balcony is made from plants mostly, and some purple and blue flowers. Wisteria, bellflower, foxglove, lavender, purplish blue veronica, freesia, blue-tinted statice, and cornflowers. They are beautiful, so eternal but if you look closely you see they aren't full of life. There's something strange in those color shades. Like they are out of the world. So dark and so full of... I don't recognize this thing. Maybe, I'm just delusional. Marissa POV. Walking beside Kai as we reach the area where the Ice Lily grows, I’m in awe at the sight of the flowers in bloom. The scent is sweet with a bite of cold. My eyes widen at the sight. I move closer as I go to my knees in front of one. I reach out to touch it but draw my hand back. The petals are icy blue with white edging; the stem is white. The filaments are white grading up to blue and the anther is white. I close my eyes as I breathe in the fragrance. It’s harmless in this state. It smells like a crisp winter’s morning after the first snow.

Unlike it, the other plants had normal brown stems and green leaves, with their flowers being the only parts with colors other than green and brown. I wondered if Mum would be mad at me if she found out that I plucked one of those flowers, especially this very unique one. She invited me to the forest yesterday, and I discovered this gigantic Red Spider Lily by accident,” Charmine’s red lips shifted into a small smile as she answered elegantly. The less deadly one had a gradient of red-orange, the red at the tip of the flowers spreading down and blending into orange. While the more deadly one still had the purple color of aconite but with a blue gradient.” “Wow, that does sound gorgeous.” She said, “How about ‘Blue’ for the blue purple plant and then ‘Red’ for the red orange one?”

Alexander turned sharply, irritation flaring—then stopped. In the man’s palm lay a small black box, no larger than a matchbox. Its surface was matte, faintly warm, as though it had just been held.
