A shadow demon suddenly emerged directly between us and the tent. Rhys cursed sharply beneath his breath. The creature rose slowly this time, black smoke rolling off its body while its shining black eyes fixed directly onto me. Not Corin. Not Rhys. Me. Its stretched mouth slowly pulled wider.
