The orange liquid was running out of a tube and into the connecting tubes that filtered to each person. “That’s literally poison.” I whispered. As I stepped closer, I saw some of the discarded bottles. Jimsonweed, Doll’s eye, and another flower I didn’t quite recognize were empty. I’m pretty sure the orange is from the Doll’s eye berries, but I’m unsure what the liquid is. “Don’t touch this.” I muttered as I looked at the whole thing. “You have to destroy this,” Demi yelled in my mind. “We can’t let them get poisoned. There are hundreds here.”

In a few minutes, we left the cave and moved away from the faint outline of the moon above the pond. About an hour later, we were back at the foot of the Blue Fangs and found ourselves surrounded by shrubs. Rum moved towards a tree, the shape of a lollipop, and reached his hand into the dense cloud of leaves. After some ruffling sounds, his hand emerged with a vine of green berries. ‘What’s that?’ I asked. He swallowed and replied, ‘Pea berries.’ He handed me a small bunch. I took one drop and observed it between my fingers. ‘They look like emeralds.’

By now I had already finished picking all of the herbs and vegetables that I needed. Well, except for one. Tynil was one plant that I was familiar with that grew very widely everywhere. It was dark blue and had a slightly sweet aroma. It was well-known as an ornamental plant, but very people knew that it was also poisonous in the right doses. I had studied poisons in college for one semester and I was pretty sure that I knew how to extract the poison from the flower, and what dose to apply.

“Is it the…?” Darrion pointed his index finger to the table and Jai followed his pointer. He could see a strange looking herb, like a coconut’s leaf but smaller, and the tip of it was blue and glowed in and out like a firefly. “Is that the—“ “Blue-tip Fern. It’s here,” Darrion smiled. Jai grinned in response and observed the table once more. “There are more than fifteen, what, bouquet over there. Do you think we’re going to use them all?”

He didn't answer me, and his eyes were gradually closing despite my words, and I noticed that his skin was turning a strange shade of blue around his lips and neck. I looked over at the weapon in Rowan's hand, and I stared at the dark liquid on the blade, and I realized that the sharp edge had been coated with something toxic. I recognized the poison almost immediately as Cloud bethel, and my stomach turned over with an immense jolt of panic. It was a poisonous plant that caused certain death in less than an hour if it was not treated quickly, and the main issue was that I didn't have the antidote anywhere near me.

Derek confessed. "You idiot! These are cotoneaster! They're poisonous berries!" Peter exclaimed as he pulled the berries from his friend's hand and threw them to the side. "My parents have them in the garden to attract the bees to pollinate the flowers, they aren't for human consumption." Peter sighed and looked at his friend, "We need to keep a watch on your breathing. I won't have you dying on my watch." *Back to present time* "I told you I wasn't going to let you die on my watch. I meant it then and I mean it now, Derek." He said as he gave his friend a sip of his tea mixture.

Bucho knew so much about events that happened thousands of years ago, I made me more curious exactly how old this whole place was. Once I wrangled the magic into a more usable stream, I let vines weave from the ground and flow through the loops of the lanterns that were laying in a line. Once all of them had been looped, I pulled the vines up off the ground and into the trees. The vines wove around the branches about ten feet in the air. They hung at the intervals that Stacy had request and I added flowers, Bloodroot, to the vines. While poisonous to eat, they were a beautiful white petalled flower with a yellow center, almost like the daisies you found in the states.

She took the mushrooms out of the basket. In a very casual tone, she explain, "This is the flesh brown linnet umbrella, poisonous, this is the light red gooseberry, poisonous, this is the Asiatic pleated red mushroom, poisonous, this is the poisonous fly gooseberry, not exactly poisonous, but it will cause hallucinations if you eat it, do you want to try it?" Gold looked very speechless. [Oh my! They should listen to Aurora] [I can’t believe they spent hours picking up poisonous stuff, they’re so useless]

Isn’t it true that if something tastes bad, it’s probably poisonous? But just as I was about to bring it up to my mouth, my eyes caught a glimpse of something even better. Blueberries! I ran over to the little bush, leaving the mushroom on the trunk. And, for once, I felt extremely fortunate when I discovered that there were more of those bushes a short distance away. My hands worked systematically through every tiny branch and leaf for the next hour or so, bringing the juicy berries into my mouth and suffocating my hunger. And by the time I’d gone through each one to make sure I had them all, the flavorful fluid had turned my fingers and, most likely, my lips purple.

Thomas asked again, “I heard that there’s another peony that looks very similar to Lovey Peony, and it’s called Cloud Peony?” Aldrich nodded. “Yeah, the two species look very similar. If you don’t observe them carefully, you can’t differentiate them! But Cloud Peony is poisonous and non-edible. You can only look at it.” “Can you take me to look at it?” Thomas asked. “Of course, this way please.” Aldrich brought Thomas to go and see the Cloud Peony. When Thomas saw it, he realized that it was true! Cloud Peony looked incredibly similar to Lovey Peony.
