She glared. “Stop calling me that.”

Caelan looked between us, clearly reevaluating his life choices. “We need a plan,” he said. “Now. Before they strike.”
Ember turned to the horizon, where the fires raged red and furious, painting the night in blood. “I say,” she said coldly, “we strike first.”
