I froze, terror seizing me. His eyes turned darker, and suddenly, he roared, “RUN!!!”
Without thinking, I spun around and bolted across the white ground, the ground that slightly mixed with the forest ground whenever I blinked. His laughter echoed behind me as I ran and ran barefoot, the bloody foot print I left behind on the white floor and the forest floor at the same time while my eyes fixed on the threshold ahead, the promise of freedom.
