MATES: REMNANTS OF A BETRAYED BOND
The gruesome sight evoked mixed feelings: pride, but also dread.
A light gust of wind carried the metallic scent, whipping it around me, strong and pungent, repulsing me. A sickening tide surged in my throat, threatening to spill. But I swallowed it down, leaving the bitter nausea lodged in my chest.
“That’s the last of them,” Blayne declared, marching over to me with his face screwed up in an angry scowl. “Every last one of Turco’s scum. Finally dead.”
“That’s the same thing you said the other day, Blayne, and look what happened today?” I bit out, the rage from the bloodlust still roiling hot inside of me, letting my aura flex.
