Immediately, Engram faced the bandit leader; he quickly cast a wraith’s robe, the same spell that was used by the black mage who killed Harold Whitewood when it tried to escape from Jeremiah’s pursuit. Engram's body became transparent and his weight became light as a feather. The spell made him able to move swiftly and stabbed the bandit leader on his chest. The bandit retaliated by slashing his ax against his opponent, but Engram’s body was invisible and could not be hit by a physical attack. While the bandit was slashing his body over and over meaninglessly, Engram cast another spell which made his sword could transfer the enemy’s life force into him and healed him at the same time.

“Even then, the spell might finish if enough blood has already been spilled.” I stared at him. “That’s impossible.” “Yes.” His smile was bitter. “I know.” I stood there, my mind racing through every strategy and watching each one collapse. “How do I stop a spell that might finish even after the caster is dead?” I asked. “You don’t.” Aldric reached into his robes and pulled out a small crystal that glowed with faint light. “But this might. It’s a disruptor. If you can get close enough to touch her while she’s casting, activate this. It should shatter the binding before it locks in.”

She had gotten so good at this spell that it took her no more effort than flicking the tip of a lighter to create her light. Once the golden glow was hovering above her right palm, she held out her left hand. With a single thought, she made the light leap from her right hand to her left. Technically, it didn’t really leap—she simply replaced the sphere above her right hand with a new one above her left—but the effect was as if the light had quickly jumped from one hand to the other.

The gust of wind took on shades of blue and purple, heading towards the beast that was attempting to attack me with airborne kicks. Its body was lifted from the ground and spun several meters in the air. The surrounding whispers grew louder, and I repeated each word, transforming into a human and raising my hands toward the beast. “Vox Terrae, Bestiae Fugite, Homo Revertere!” I approached the beast even closer, shouting desperately, “COME BACK TO ME, HARVEY!”

’ Dante’s voice flooded my mind with a gentle caress. ‘She was using her blood to bypass that collar by using her blood as a conduit to conduct the spells. She’s actually combining two spells but from two different forms of magic. The first one is a typical spell for strength. It would essentially give her the strength of a bear-shifter. The second one is shadow magic. It would cloak her behind a shadow, making her invisible for all intents and purposes. She would’ve used the strength to get out of the cell and the invisibility to escape undetected.’

She stands up and stretches, before rubbing her wrists and then she walks over to her bag on the floor and pulls out her book of spells. Always Standing next to her, I watch her constantly as she prepares for the spell and then starts to speak. “Hear me now. Let what has been done, be undone, and made right. Shall the spell be broken, and no harm come to them.” The minute she says the words, I hear Arabella’s voice. “They are waking up!” She exclaims.

I was in a good mood now it was ruined. “No.” “Thank Goodness!” I sighed. “Now, I shall begin my work,” I pushed Fredden aside focusing on the girl. My sword in my hands and the spell in my mind. “Obumbratio et maledictiones pellite.” The sword turned to a book, definitely a book, and emitted a warm light enveloping the girl. It didn’t take a long time to finish the incantation and I almost believed it did nothing. She woke up, her eyes green and her skin normal, like a human.

I used the 90% time of Samil's presentation to concentrate on casting my spell. "Take out the cor inane and place it on the table," I said quietly, covering my mouth so no one could see my lips move. I was trying to concentrate solely on Victor Artois, but the distractions were coming from everywhere. When the other members started to ask Samil questions concerning the presentation, focusing on Victor Artois became impossible. I couldn't make him look into my eyes for even a second, and an eye contact was crucial for my spell to work. "He was glaring at me non-stop before Samil's presentation started! Why can't he take a simple glimpse at me now while I try to put a spell on him?!" I whined

Because the spell can only be performed once and there's no way I would live on, alone. Summoning as much power as I could, I began to whisper a spell, focussing on the ball in the evil woman’s hand, while my chest tightened as her spell to swap our souls intensified. I didn’t care if she stole my body. All I wanted was to save Lewis first. No matter the cost. It was just a few seconds but it felt like hours. I felt the final tug to my soul as it left my body, just as the evil woman’s ball hit Lewis.
