Bram didn’t say a word, just followed me with that blank, infuriating expression like he wasn’t secretly judging everything from the building to my choice of pants. I pushed through the crowd, straight toward the bar. The bartender—a girl with thick curls and a low-cut tank top—flashed me a smile. “Good evening, sir. What can I get you?” I smiled back, fingers drumming on the bar. Now this—this was my world. I ordered for a whiskey.

A few people were in there drinking coffee and talking amongst themselves as I made my way over to the bar. "Good morning, can I interest you in our special for the day? Our chef makes the best omelets." The bartender smiled at me. I just glared at him. "Give me a shot of whiskey and a long island." He stared at me with a puzzled look but said nothing as he started on my drink order. Once it was in front of me, I downed the shot and then started on the drink. "Layla Stanford. Are you drinking this early in the morning?"

Bikers shouted over the music, glasses clinked, and people were already dancing. Vincent would absolutely hate this place. The thought made me smile. The bartender approached me. “What can I get you?” I quickly typed something on my phone and turned the screen toward him. “Give me the strongest thing you have. Mix whatever you want.” The bartender blinked. Nico, sitting beside me, nearly choked. “Whoa. Are you trying to destroy your liver tonight?” I shrugged. Honestly, I wasn't particularly worried about my liver anymore. A few minutes later, the bartender placed a glass in front of me.

I head towards the bartender. "Hey, you got an order for table 12?" I asked, waving the order pad at him. "Yup, let me just grab the wine," he said, rushing over to the fridge. I watched him as he grabbed the champagne and the merlot, his movements quick and efficient.

'She's so close. 'Where?' I asked as my eyes scanned the room. The bartender walked up to me and said, "Sir, you sent it to me. What would you like to have tonight?" he asked. Not concentrating on him, "Vodka." I cleared my throat. "Two bottles of Vodka. No three." The bartender stared at me confused. "Three?" he wanted to be sure. "Correct." He nodded his head and headed back to the counter, where he did his job.

I ask the bartender showing her a picture on my phone. “Yeah, he was in here last night, and this morning he tried to hit on me, but I declined his offer, and he said he was leaving town today,” The bartender answers. I sigh and place my phone back in my pocket. “Thanks, can I get two beers, please?” I ask, looking over to Maverick, sitting at a booth. The bartender hands me the beers, and I slide her some cash.

Apparently, it's known for its mean drinks and fiery decor—which makes sense, given the name. I hang my head low as I walk to the round bar which houses three bartenders, though I'm sure with the amount of people here, they've barely done any work. "Welcome to Inferno, pretty lady. What can I get you?" One of the bartenders, a blond, spike-haired dude with one dimple asks. I lick my lips, my eyes going over the menu hung behind him before clearing my throat. "Um, a whiskey?" I say the first familiar thing I see.

We made a completely direct, absolutely unyielding line for the glowing, incredibly bright blue neon lights of the massive main bar. "Two!" I shouted completely over the absolutely deafening, entirely overwhelming roar of the club music. I entirely held up two fingers directly to the heavily tattooed, entirely pierced supernatural bartender. "I need a completely massive Tequila Sunrise! And a strong Vodka Tonic for my best friend!" The bartender completely nodded his head. He, spun the glass bottles with completely practiced, and incredibly effortless grace.
