"It's alright. I've read of humans who write stories about people's life, lessons and events. They call them authors or writers there and they have had an influence on people's lives. I think that is a great sense of creativity. You see, not everyone is capable of writing a book." So if I write a book, then I am an author? That was interesting! And my book would carry my name on its cover too. I didn't think it was that easy. "I would contact someone for you, love. I'm sure it'll do well."

I held my head up, the book entitled Anthology of Rasa (Illustrated Edition) by Ika Natasya was still in my hands. Move to improve sitting position, slightly twist the body left and right, then both hands simultaneously close the book and place it on the table in front of me.

She laughed and said : “A book of course. It's my novel , the missing king', you think you are the only one who writes books.” I took it from the desk and began to glance through it. Now it was clear to me that this girl is pretty talented. I loved her style of writing but I was surprised that someone would spend so much time writing such a huge book. “Don't you have a laptop?. You should have typed this rather than wasting those ink” “I do but I prefer to write it down, it kind of makes me feel connected to the work. And I have the soft copy, in case you are worried. It is a 45 thousand words plus book”

“That is the one that matters.” Elliot looked at him. “Yes,” he said. “It is.” Adrian walked out. Elliot picked up his phone and sent Sera a message. Nicole wants to meet. Tuesday. I will tell you about it after. Then: How is the book. Her reply came quickly. Seventeen pages now. The introduction is the hardest part. Same as the paper. You have to say what the whole thing means before the reader has seen it and that requires a particular faith in your own argument. A pause. Then: Do you have it. The faith.

She writes a book. Not a memoir — she is not ready to tell the whole story, and the whole story has a piece in it that cannot be told in a form that will be believed. Not a business book — the practice is not a formula to be replicated. But something between: an account of what the work has taught her, using the actual clients and the actual briefs and the actual places as the body of evidence. The book is called, provisionally, *The Thing Before the Claim*. It takes six weeks to write the first draft because the material has been accumulating for ten years, and the sentences were already there; they just needed to be put in order.

The words always seemed inadequate, insufficient to express the longing she felt. Bruno, on the other hand, was busy with Nilton's Bike. He was committed to creating a new business plan for the shop, seeking ways to expand and modernize the business. During the day, he was full of ideas and dedicated to his work. At night, however, when he was alone at his house, he felt loneliness more deeply. He frequently wrote messages, sharing details of his routine and wishing Helena good night, but then deleted everything, unable to send them.

There’s something about holding your own book for the first time that feels like magic. Even if it’s just a draft copy, the weight of the pages, the feel of your words printed out—it makes everything real. For me, writing had always been the one place where my voice wasn’t interrupted, where I wasn’t overshadowed by someone else’s control.

Arthur notices what I did, and he grabs the book under my pillow. "Why are you hiding this?" He asks me, and I notice that he catches Lucas's attention. Lucas looks at us and checks the book Arthur's holding. "What's that?" He asks him. "How to avoid writer's block? by Ezckapel." He read the title. I explain to them that I wanted that book. I explain to them that I've been suffering from Writer's Block since I got into an accident. Arthur got shocked by what he heard.

The room was very still. “I started writing it the morning after my second wedding the one I chose rather than the one I was given. I was standing in a cottage in Hudson Valley with a notebook and I wrote three pages before Adrian woke up and I understood, somewhere in the middle of the third page, that this was going to be a book and not just a notebook.” I paused. “I want to tell you what kind of book it is. Not what the back cover says you’ve read that. What I think it actually is.”
